TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES OF JULY 10, 2008 <br /> Members present: Bob Wooldridge, Beverly Wooldridge, Merton Sapers, Trish Parolski, Charles <br /> Maintanis, Marilyn Farren, Patricia Lugo, Terrie Cook, Selectmen Liaison. <br /> Absent: Bill Dundon, <br /> Chairman Bob Wooldridge called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> Review/approve Minutes of 6112108 meeting: A motion was made, seconded, and approved to <br /> accept as submitted the Minutes from the 6/12108 meeting. <br /> Reappointment and election of officers: Bob Wooldridge was nominated and voted in as the <br /> Chairman for another term. <br /> Sidewalk from Mashpee Village to Rte. 1.51 -Mr. Pacheco: Catherine Laurent (DPW) agreed <br /> to do corrective work along Old Barnstable Road from Rte. 151 to Mashpec Village and extend <br /> the sidewalk between the Mashpee Village driveways. <br /> Planning & Construction Committee Activites: Trish Parolski reported that construction work <br /> on Fire Station 42 was ahead of schedule. <br /> Library: Catherine Laurent is on the Selectmen's Meeting agenda to discuss bids for demolition <br /> in September. Parking in the Commons is an issue at this time. The Cape Cod Commission, <br /> Zoning Board of Appeals, and Mashpee Commons Limited Partnership are arbitrating the <br /> details. <br /> Temporary Library Crosswalk-South Cape Village Parking: Melinda Gallant, Manager of <br /> South Cape Village, will be approached with the request to have a crosswalk installed at the <br /> expense of South Cape Village. Also, more handicap parking spaces are needed. <br /> Parking Patrols - Mert Sapers: Mert Sapers reported that two tickets were given out this <br /> month. There are currently 8 patrols, with two members each, going out on different days, <br /> covering the entire week. The ticket is issued and placed on the windshield of the car and copies <br /> go to the Town Clerk and Police Department. <br /> Mashpee Night at the Pops: Last year there were places for the handicapped in one location. <br /> There was also a drop-off zone. The event will take place the last Saturday in July. Bob <br /> Wooldridge will send an e-mail to Tim Vacarro to see if he is coordinating parking. <br /> Ballots and Town Meeting Warrants for the Blind: Bob Wooldridge noted that many are in <br /> favor of a CD/audiotape version of the election ballot and the Town Meeting Warrant. We need <br /> to keep talking to Sherry Bergeron, Executive Director of the Audible Local Ledger, to figure <br /> out how best to accomplish this. Wayne Taylor and Terrie Cook offered to help. <br />
