Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> January 4, 2011 at 6:30 pm. <br /> Meeting loom 3, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Alan Trebat, Bud Abbott, Berkeley Johnson <br /> -Also Present: Selectman Michael Richardson, Committee Candidate Fred Detschel <br /> Absent: Klliope Bgloff <br /> Call to order <br /> Chairman Trebat called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes-December 9 2010 <br /> Mr. Abbott recommended charges to the minutes. <br /> 'm tlon was made by Mr. Johnson to approve the minutes of December 9'h as amended. Mr. <br /> Abbott seconded the notion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Election of officers + <br /> Due to Amy Snider's resignation, it is necessary to elect a member of the Committee to serve as Clerk. <br /> A motion was made by Chairman Trebat to nominate Mr. Abbott to serve as Clerk of the <br /> Affordable Housing Committee. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Recruitment of New Committee Member <br /> There was discussion at the last meeting regarding two interested candidates for the fordable Housing <br /> Committee but one candidate has since withdrawn heir interest. The other candidate, Fred 1 etschel2 is in <br /> attendance at torfight's meeting. The Chair noted that another individual expressed interest and has been <br /> advised to forward a letter of interest to the Board of Selectman and was invited to attend tonight's <br /> meeting. <br /> Mr. 1 etschel, a resident on the Cape since 1935, introduced himself and described his involvement with <br /> community projects in Falmouth through his church, which included a restoration project. Mr. 1 etschel <br /> has worked in computers and real estate. While working at IB1 I, Mr. 1 etschel took a leave of absence in <br /> order to teach computer science to hive Americans. Mr. Ietschel is married with children, and many <br /> grandchildren and great grandchildren. lir. I etschel served as President of his homeowner's association <br /> for 4 gears and most-recently has served as Treasurer. Mr. Detschel will submit a letter of interest and <br /> resume to the Town Manager. The Chair stated that he would contact Mr. Detschel as soon as possible, <br /> although any additional interested candidates must also be considered. Mr. Abbott suggested that if no <br /> other interested parties attend the meeting, the Committee should voice their support for Mr. Detschel. <br /> Habitat for Humanity Petition for Comprehensive Permit-12 Mussell Road <br /> Habitat for Humanity has submitted a petition for a comprehensive permit for a single family home at 1 <br /> Russell Toad. The current wr"ers have subdivided a larger lot in order to create a 10,000 square foot lot <br /> for a 11,200 square foot Habitat home. The application represents a typical Habitat build inluding the <br /> construction, lottery and permitting of the home. Chairman Trebat stated that he saw nothing <br /> controversial in the application, noting that the lot size is small, but not unlike other properties in the. <br /> neighborhood. The petition will be addressed at the Zoning Board of Appear meeting on January 12. <br /> Mr. Abbott has volunteered to attend the meeting. Mr. Johnson questioned whether the property is on <br /> town grater and the Chair responded that it will be a 3 bedroom home with a septic system and town <br />
