Cynthia green, Louise Patrick, Julius Rosales, John Paone, <br /> MaTty Henry, and Trudi 1de* <br /> Absent: Alice Lopez <br /> Guests: Stu Peoples, Chairman of the Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust <br /> Leila Botsford,Member of the Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust <br /> Deb Battles,Member of the Affordable Housing Trust <br /> Frederic Presbre , Executive Director of the Housing Assistance Corporation <br /> iselle Gauthier, Housing Assistance Corporation - <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes...Marty Hcnry motioned to accept the minutes of June 7, 2005; Julius <br /> Rosales seconded the motion- and the motion was carried. <br /> ME"41 TRATIVE <br /> The audio/visual technician wanted the Committee to be aware that she has a documentary that <br /> she produced on.the Mashpee River Waterways. This documentary airs at :00 pm, daily on <br /> Channel 17. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust—"Municipal Affordable Housing Trusts" <br /> a Members from the Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust were present to discuss the formation <br /> of a Town.Affordable Housing Trust and to get an article on the Town Warrant. <br /> ■Zella invited the members to attend and asked for their response and points of interest on the <br /> formation of this trust. Stu People responded by stating that he is concerned because they are <br /> struggling to get their trust off the ground and the formation of this trust would be a direct <br /> conflict. Stu suggested obtaining legal advise on forming an alliance on working together to <br /> form a joint trust for Affordable Housing. <br /> o Marty Henry inquired about tax exemption status for the current trust. Leila confmned that <br /> they are a 5013C organization,which has tax-exempt status. They can give receipts for <br /> donations to be used for tax purposes. <br /> a Leila asked the Affordable Housing Committee what the Town hoped to accomplish by <br /> establishing this tryst. John Paone stated that the Committee is in the early stages of figuring <br /> out advantages/disadvantages of establishing a Town.Frust. Zella confirmed by stating that it <br /> is important to have dialogue now to see if it makes sense to work together on a joint project* <br />
