She found and agreed that there was a
more significant need for rental housing of one to two bedroom units than that of
family housing. Most appealing pieces of properties are the land near Mashpee High
School,Asher's Path land, and the abandoned timeshaire project on route 28 towards
Falmouth. Ms. Gauthier felt the land near the high school would meet state'sma rt
Growth plan. zella would lire to explore more than one sight which was agreed b
Ms. Gauthier and the other two board members in attendance, Not sure when funding
would be available from Community Development Act because committee has not
been totally farmed, however 10% is eanared for this project. Marty felt hi
h
school sight was a great one to focus on and Rev. Green meed that both high school
and. sher's Path should be explored and focus would be on those two properties at
this time.
Ms. Gauthier was wondering the nature of the relationship between HAC and The
Town of lashpee (I.e. Partner in developing or consultant). Once clarification on
limitations have been Provided a decision will be brought to Selectmen for a vote.
The-40B proposal of 4 o acres briefly- discussed however, project "is not in formal
stage.
i In closing, Ms. Gauthier felt rental needs should be met in a big way. Ms. Gauthier
also commented on good working relationship between Housing Authority and
Affordable Housing.
