BAILEY, DIRECTOR of ASSESSING <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by Nice Chairman <br /> Greig at 6 :00 p.m. <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS <br /> Minutes of The Meeting of April 1 , 1994 <br /> Vice Chairman Porter referred to Page 4 ,Sea Mist - ATB Case; <br /> he questioned if this matter has been resolved. David Bailey <br /> stated that the case has been settled. <br /> Vice Chairman Porter referred to Page 4 , Cablevision; he <br /> questioned the status of this matter. Chairman Greig questioned <br /> if Mashpee had made a settlement proposal . David Bailey informed <br /> that acceptance of Mahpee ' s actual assessment on the subject <br /> property was the proposal in lieu of going to court. <br /> Chairman Greig referred to Page 4 , Commercial Persona. <br /> Property; he questioned the status of this matter. David Bailey <br /> informed that he has .two bids - he would lice to get a third bid. <br /> The high bidder' s price -is $35 per parcel - the . company has a <br /> solid reputation* The low bidder has received a very good <br /> referral relative to an appraisal it recently completed. He <br /> expressed opinion that the price differential in the two <br /> quotations is astounding. Mr. Greig asked if MMC has been <br /> invited to bid. Mr. Bailey informed that MMC has `quit the <br /> business" ; the company is giving all of its business to RRC - one <br /> of the bidder ' s on Mashpee' s commercial persona. property. Mr. <br /> Bailey explained that it is difficult to get a specific appraiser <br /> for this personal property - the job is small ; many of the <br /> appraisers will not travel to Cape Cod; many work strictly west <br /> and north of Boston. Discussion followed. <br /> Chairman Greig questioned if Patriot Properties could <br /> perform this job. David Bailey expressed opinion that Patriot <br /> would probably do a decent appraisal ; however, he would rather <br /> not ask the company to bid in view of past relations . However <br /> if a third quote is not received within• a few weeks , he will ash <br /> Patriot to submit a bid; then, a selection from the first two <br /> bidders will probably be made.
