CONSERVATION COMNISSION <br /> MSEB TOWN HALL <br /> MEETING OF JULY 131, 1983 <br /> The following members of the Commission were in attendance for the meet- <br /> ing: Chairperson Dorothy Studley, Wayne Tavares and Peter Durmer, <br /> Chairperson Studley called the meeting to order at 8 :35 p.m. due to the <br /> fact that a quorum was not reached until that time, <br /> Mr. Jermyn, owner of the Santuit Cranberry Bog, was in attendance at the <br /> meeting. Chairperson Studley questionned Mr. Jermyn about poison signs <br /> posted around the bog. Ir. . Jermyn explained that the bog was aerial <br /> sprayed with Parathion and seven. He said that the poison breaks down <br /> within two days. Chairperson Studley expressed concerns about ghat effect <br /> it would have on Santuit Bond. Mr. Jermyn said that it would not go to- <br /> ward the grater. He told the Board that the chemicals were approved by <br /> the Commonwealth. The Natural Resource Officer, who was also present. re- <br /> quested that a copy of the report on the chemicals be sent to the Board* <br /> Mr, Jermyn also mentioned that round-up had been used as well. Chairperson <br /> Studley suggested that Mr. Jermyn put a name on the signs of who to contact, <br /> Wayne Tavares asked when he usually does the spraying. Mr. Jermyn replied <br /> that he sprayed at the end of May and- then again mid-summer depending on <br /> the weather. The Natural Resource Officer requested that Mr. Jermyn gyre <br /> the Commission a time frame and datLas that the spraying will be done, <br /> Mr. Jermyn also discussed the operation of the Parley bog stating that he <br /> had some questions he would Like answered relating to the sprinkler, the <br /> key to the gate of John' s Pond and liability nsuranceo Chairperson _ Studle <br /> y <br /> commented that she preferred the sub-committee to handle the questions he <br /> may have. Wayne Tavares gage Mr. Jermyn his telephone number so that he <br /> could reach him with reference to any questions he may have on the operation <br /> f the bog, <br /> Kastan Continuance, Lot 21 Tide Run <br /> Chairperson Studley called the continuance of the I ast n film to order. <br /> Since no representative <br /> was present, the Commission continued the hearing <br /> until July _27j, 1983. The secretary was asked to sena the representative, <br /> Mr. Doyle, a letter advising hire of the continuance and of the fact that <br /> the information requested previously by the Board must be received by that <br /> date or the project will be denied without prejudice. <br /> Hearing of Cimeno and Quinn, 92 Frog Pond Close <br /> Mr. Thomas Cimeno was present to answer any questions that the Commission <br /> had on the project. Mr. Mr -.si l a and Mir. Robert Scozzario abutters to <br /> the Project, were also present during the hearing. <br /> Mr. Cimeno explained to the Board that the intent is to put a 161 x 24, <br /> addition onto an existing house. The foundation will go in four feet with <br /> two inches of concrete plus a floor above. <br />
