Also present were John Va rkonda, Joseph Burns , Gerald Sprout, Patrick Coffey, William Jones and a representat ive of the Mashpee Messenger. The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. 7: 30 - James Lebel (Dowry cape Eng i neer I ng) Continued from March 5, 1987. To cons t ru t o wooden pier and pile at Lot 67 Great River Road. A. Ocha 1 a and dames Lebel presenting. M r. Odra 1 a advised the pier has been shortened and the plan re- vised sed movin the p e six feet to the- so,u th. The L-shape changed from feet to 0 feet. Copies of the revised plans were presented. Mr. Lebel showed pictures f the existing pier. He stated the distance between his dock and abutter's i over 100 feet on either side. The elevation of the pier a] lows f i e feet c l ea race underneath from the Mean Low Water mark. The existing dock presentlyextends t the inside edge. He advised his boat is 26 feet in length. Mrs . Ferriday questioned why the pier was not T-shape. Mr. Lebel stated that was in order to tie the boat off the dock in a Northeast storm. His neighbor has the same a r ranc rnen t, parallel to the shore. It was noted no comments were received from the Shellfish Officer. The area does have sorreuaho s bu h � g � but' they e are very sparse. Board of Appeals hcasrz been received . John Nugent, abutter, stated he feels the length of the dock to be excessive.' To construct a s i ng.le family d el l i ng, garage, deck portion of a driveway, installation of a we 1 1 and water sere ice. M r. Raymond stated straw bales are proposed to prevent siltation. John met with M r. Thomas and made suggestions for plantings to halt erosion and a well defined path from the roadway to the water be constructed with th vegetation on both sides . He also suggested the straw bale dike be at least 10 feet off the existing coastal ban1 . Vista clearing is requested. A letter from the Thomases re- questing the proposed amendments was presented. Ms Been rr an stated the set back from the top of the bank is 29 feet. M r. Rosenberg questioned the measurements. Mrs . Ferriday asked if the house could be roved 10 feet further away from the bank. Mr. Thomas advised six different designs have been made with assistance from John. The structure was mored back and turned around for a less desirable view. He adv i sed future plans for access to the eater are down the easement. John suggested plantings and it is planned for everything to be kept natural .
