Robert Gray
presenting with Roger McNevih. The plans are the sane. The structure has been
1n existence since the late 1 's, or early 19 's.
There are several wetland resource areas, coastal flood zone (one-half of the
property); a type three coastal bank; salt marsh which at the ramp and float
is a 14 foot ribbon; seaward of the salt marsh is land under the ocean. It is
a good shellfish area. Originally, they were proposing no changes in structure.
The float is ' x 12", 965 s.f. and the ramp is 161 x 3-1/2' , 56 s.f. Based on
conversations with shellfish, they may need to relocate the float into deeper
water as it does bottom out in extreme low water. Rick York is looking for two
feet of water at mean low which would be out 40 feet. They would like to discuss
not having to do that and work on a design so that the float will not bottom out.
The applicant would like maiht nance language for. this existing facility in an
Order of Conditions, They are pursuing Chapter 91 and ACOE,,qw It isnot in an
e s t ima ted habitat, ACED 'or ocean sanctuary. The salt marsh, is under the restriction
program and application has- been made to them. Ir
i 4
J
Mr, Sherman stated if they do not have any water depth at low tide,- is there prop
dredging?
P F
Mr. Gray advised they only have a. canoe. Mr.. Sherman stated nothing is motorized?
Mr. Gray had not discussed this with the, applicant. It would be better to retro-
fit it with a design for motorized craft.
Mrs. Ferriday suggested limiting it to a dinghy dock; they could get a mooring.
Mr. Homeyer advised there are none in Poppones et Creek.
Mr. Sherman stated perhaps they should just extend it. Mr. Gray stated they
have no problem with an extension.
Mr. Me evish stated they would thea be into a fixed pier and would lose Amnesty
ir_media tely. -
Mr. Gray stated Shellfish comments in the negative during the comment period
would prevent them obtaining a Chapter 91 license.
Mr. Hozeyer asked how far ,it would be necessary to extend the structure and
was told 45 feet- or o; it would be 66 feet overall.
Mrs. Ferriday asked if the harbormaster has any problems with therm going out?
