Removal of the red oak will promote growth of the hollies,
Mr. Sherman asked if they would be willing to replace the trees with shrubs?
He agreed that bayberry and sheep laurel would be satisfactory. This can be
conditioned and recorded.
Ten to fifteen feet from the house there is quite a bit of hurricane damage. The
white oak is one sided and is a jeopardy to the house.
Mr. Sherman stated there is a very poor lawn between the trees, not good for
habitat. Bob Gray and
Roger McNevish presentifig, Revised plans, as discussed, were presented for review.
One of the main issues at the last hearing was water depths. A
Mr. Sherman asked the boat using the structure and was told at the present time
it is only a canoe. Mr. Toksoz advised he has owned the property since 1967.
Eventually, he will purchase a boat but has no size in mind at the present.
Mr. Gray stated anotber issue is the present float which is ' x 121 (96 s.f. ;
it -is quite small for motorized craft. They are proposing a change in size to
10' x 201 (200 s.f. ). Also, they would like to straighten out the structure which
can be done with a slight shift; it would not extend any further. They would
maintain the sane starting point and same ending point.
Mr. Homeyer asked if they would remove piles? Mr. Mc evish stated there is nothing
there now but two concrete piles as an anchor point; there is no dock there. There
would be the same number of 10" pilings.
Mr. Gray advised the state has dictated structures must be 5' above Mean High I-later
for the entire structure from the location of Mean Low to Mean High. This is new
from last month.
