F HEALTH, <br /> i <br /> EMERGENCY MEETING <br /> MARCH 31, 1988 <br /> �rergency meeting called to order at atkP1 :30 am <br /> Marbers present: CFB, RLW, GRc, and Agent Mcqua 1 d <br /> CFB: The purpose of calling this emergency meeting is the action which took place i n this office yesterday. <br /> I was notified by Mr. McQuaid that the temporary clerk at some.point in the moat i ng decided that she needed t <br /> go home and take the rest cf the day and perhaps the rest of the week off. Upon her leaving, Mr. Tallent, the <br /> clergy , rose from his desk and decided that he was going home and that he would be back for his personal pro- <br /> perty at a later date. The implication I gat was that he hAD quit. Not being in the office at the time, I asks <br /> EAM if that is a proper su TmaTION of WHAT TOOK PLACE? <br /> EM: Yes, he told rye how many hours to put him in on the payroll, including the four hours covering Monday <br /> n rte's meeting, and that would be it for the week, that he would be backs for his radio and coffee maker <br /> r <br /> some time in the future. 1e haven't heard from him since. <br /> CFB: It seers to me that if ,you do something like that you're quitting. <br /> R : Did you(EAM) have a discussion whim that brought this on? <br /> EAM: In to morning, just numrrts after Denise Sullivan showed up for work, he turned to me and said that <br /> if she's staying, I'm leaving. I just let it slide because I"m sick and tired of the little gates the two <br /> f them were playing. So I didn't do anything about it. I didn't respond to that statement. But when <br /> around :30 when DS said she was leaving at 10:00, 1 snapped imT diately and said I'm sick and tired of <br /> the gams, we're all here to do a job, I'm doing the best job I can do,, and that's what I expect of your to <br /> do, that I r m t i reed of i t, I don't want hear these prob 1 ems. She then got up and l eft. Shortly thereafter, Bob <br /> approached me and told me wbat to put him in for�on the payroll. I said to him that I can't believe ,you're <br /> leaving, yesterday-you wanted her to leave, now she's quit and you're leaving. He then said, well it's gone <br /> 48 ECn <br /> far, I'm out f here. <br /> : We've been through it before, we've failed to docs. ent all of it, as far as I'm concerned I take that t he quit. We've a l 1 to l ked him out of it bf ore. We can't run the office 1 i k this. We've got to stra i ghten <br /> the office out. We need hanTony. If he's that unhappy, we should try to find somebody else. <br /> RLW: We've put up with Bob for a long time... and I make a mat i on that we ask for his res i gnat i ort. <br /> CF : I would ask that you amend that mot i on to one which wou 1 d l ead' to send him a certified letter informing <br /> him that we have received i nformat i on that he has walked out of the office that he will be pickiN up his person x <br /> property, we take this as a resignation and therefore we accept his res ignat ion.. Because in essence that is what's <br /> happened. He got up and quit. <br /> GRC: I think we should accept it. <br /> CFB: Send hist a letter that we do accept his resignation, All those in favor of that motion-Yes. <br /> RLI :Yes <br /> GRC:Yes <br /> CFB: We're a 1 l in favor. 1e should inform Marilyn of our action and give her a copy of our letter. <br /> LW: Has he turned in his keys? <br /> EAM: No, and he was perhaps very careful in not saying 'I resign or 'I quit'. He said everything short of that. <br /> Had he said that I would have asked for his keys. <br /> CFB,., In the letter ask for the ,keys. It botfters me to carry this mot i on through, but I can't see continuously <br /> disrupting the office, We've given him-opportunity after opportun 1 ty, he goes along fine for a while with no <br /> prob 1 m at least that we hear of.., then he out for a coup I e of days or pulls a stunt like this, <br /> CRC: I received a call yesterday fry DS. I called backs down here and was probably a little abrupt WEAM. <br /> I tried to make EAM realize that he is the boss and nnobody else, I think Bob didn't want to accept that and <br /> this caused friction. I just want to g i e EAM the Board's feeling again that he's the boss of the office <br /> when we're not here. <br /> CFB: I wou 1 d re arm-end a course of action to the Board w1n i ch cannot take place until the Board convenes after <br /> the election, but I would strongly re amEnd tbt Mrs. Anderson not be reapp n ited and the EAM be rude the Agent. <br /> 40 think that at that time it'v uld be proper for; the Board to outline his office responsibilities and to carry <br /> from there. <br /> EA : I've been in a very tenuous situation aS Acting Agent. ,I'm not about to start changing policy. Bob's been <br /> going a 1 ong a cera i n amount of authority wbich was grated to him by Non i e and I haven't felt that I've been in <br /> a position to change that..-Once and if I'm appointed the official Agent, 1 can start-changing the policy and <br /> r <br />
