III REPORTS: A. Library Director Helene DeFoe: copy of the library director' s report is attached for your information. Helene ex .lained that Diane Farrell has been selected as their neer temporary of-ro la.tion clerk.. They had asked the selectmen to appoint her, and they did that following their meeting, later in the evening. Helene was surprised that they put two conditions on it: . The conditionswere' that the library not use her for more than 19 hours per week, and that they only use her if they had another employee out. Helene dated- August 1, 2001 for your information* Friends of the Library - Artisans Fair: David thanked Cindy Parker, . treasurer of Friends for her -efforts � relative to the Artisans Fair. David explained that the genesis 'of the whole thing was th ough Cindy Parker, David stated that they had had a great clay, and it generated a lot of positive PRO. Cindy Parker presented an 'Informal report* Cindy stated that the profit from the Artisans Fair was $4 , 600 . . She further explained that they actually tock in -between the lobster rolls, lemonade and the Nantucket Basket raffle, over $10 ,000 . However they had spent more money this year than they had last year to prepare for the fair.
