Library Director - Helene DeFoe: Encl . <br /> se - re Helene ' s <br /> written reports for the months of April 2002 axed May 2002 <br /> for your information. <br /> The Mashpee Library is still concentrating on the switchover <br /> to the new circulation s rstem, That has been delayed until <br /> September. CLAMS realized that it was not realistic to try <br /> to go forward with that early June, as they had planned.. <br /> Helene reported that they had also changed the-' loan period <br /> f their videos to be more in - line with the other libraries. <br /> 5 <br /> The video loan period is now one week. <br /> B. Children' s Librarian Report: Janet Burke ' s report to Helene <br /> DeFoe for the month. of June 2002 is also enclosed. <br /> TIT COMMUNICATION <br /> David reported that present at' the previous meeting was a <br /> gentleman by the name of Jerry Blutengarten, an Educational- <br /> Consultant, <br /> d cational- <br /> Con ultant, formerly from Long Island, N. Y, fir, Blumengarten <br /> has been a Mashpee 'resident for the past two or three years. <br /> He shared with the meeting -some of his 'experiences and how <br /> he was able to whip the' Long Island library into shape. He- <br /> made a point that at some of the open meetings there is a <br /> public comment period. If we should meed to have a public <br /> comment period, the trustees, the building committee, the <br /> library itself.'' is entering a very kind of exciting time , <br /> and important time, There may be times when it would be <br /> absolutely - appropriate. David stated they would take that <br /> on a case-by-case basis . <br /> David advised- the meeting that during the June 1 , 2002 <br /> meeting the trustees had made a motion to the effect that <br /> if the necessity should arise, and someone wished to comment <br /> they would tale that on a case-by-case basis, <br />
