BOARD of LERRARY TRUSTEES <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br /> TUESDAY,AUGUST 1 ,2005 <br /> MASHPEE LIBRARY <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo 'Este,Dianna Smith, Ann MacDonald-Dailey,Heather Lakatos,fancy <br /> Stafford, Nancy Soderberg, and Helene DeFoe, Library Director. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Ann motioned to accept the Minutes of the Meeting held July 12, 2005 as presented;Dianna seconded the <br /> notion and it was approved by all attendees, except Nancy Stafford abstained. Nancy Soderberg had not yet <br /> arrived at the meeting. <br /> Directory <br /> Helene distributed copies of her monthly report for July,the July Clams Circulation Statistics Report, an <br /> Janet Burke's July report. Copies of these reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> The reports were reviewed and discussed in detail. In addition in discussing the library hours topic noted in <br /> the last paragraph of her report,Helene advised the Trustees that the size of our library requires we be open 40 <br /> hours and we're open 41 hours, <br /> Finally, Helene advised the Trustees that the American Library Association designated September a <br /> "National Library Card Month". The Library will be participating in a national registration drive for residents <br /> who don't have library cards. Helene asked the Trustees if anyone was interested in having a photo taken <br /> Molding up their library card. The photos will be used in a photo display on a'mall of Fane. <br /> Construction Grant/Fundraising <br /> David advised that Shelley Gilbert's presentation to the Board of Selectmen about 3 weeks ago went <br /> very well and all Selectmen were very supportive. <br /> 0 At the New Seabury Homeowner's Association meeting approximately 70 stayed for S elle ' <br /> presentation. Two hundred had attended the homeowners meeting but many left before Shelly had an <br /> opportunity to spew. All copies of Newsletter, pledge cards, and library bookmarks were handed out <br /> to the group. <br /> Ted Nadolny ran the Falmouth Road Race and completed 7.1 miles...raised over$3,000. <br /> Suggestion: Perhaps next year we should make the woodland Road Race a library event. <br /> Mashpee Commons approved sign advertising new library coming soon, which included architect <br /> rendering of new library. Trustees felt placing this sign in vicinity of Steeple Street Job's Road would <br /> be better than placing on Route 15 1. <br /> o Melinda advised David that the brochure with pledge card attached will be corning soon. David <br /> reminded the Trustees that Melinda is the fundraising coordinator so anything to do with fundraising <br /> should be referred to her for handling/and or information needed. <br />
