BOARDLIBRARY TRUSTEES STETS - V { <br /> ' <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY,NOVEMBER 9., 2005 <br /> �ASHPEE .LIBRARY <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo D' st ,Ann MacDonald-Dailey,Heather Lalatos,Nancy Stafford,Nancy <br /> Soderberg, and Helene DFoe, Library Director. <br /> Absent: Dianna Smith. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 7:18 p.m. <br /> Minutes <br /> Ann motioned that review and approval of the Minutes of the meeting of October 11, 2005 be tabled because <br /> several members did not have copies of the minutes available to there. The minutes will be approved at the <br /> next meeting in December; this motion was seconded by Nancy Stafford; and was unam*mousl y approved. <br /> Director"s Ro -t <br /> Helene provided a copy of her monthly report for October and the October CLAIMS Circulation Statistics <br /> Report; both of these reports were reviewed and discussed. In recent months,we have been measuring <br /> Mashpe 's circulation.against several larger libraries. In FY 2005, Brewster Library exceeded l rlashpee's <br /> circulation by 3,000 items. The highlight is that we surpassed Brewster Library statistics in October, and we <br /> are in striking range of Chatham. The Board congratulated Helene on the amazing job being clone by her and <br /> her staff. Copies of the reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. 4 <br /> Helene distributed Janet f uarke's monthly report for October. The Trustees again commented on how <br /> impressive Janet's efforts are. A copy of this report is attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Conference/Workshop-Info <br /> David reported that he attended the NILTA/MF L 1 offi Annual Joint Conference and it was very worthwhile <br /> and had very interesting workshops. He encouraged the Board to keep this in mind for next year in the event <br /> they are able to attend. David then provided materials he retrieved at the Conference. David discussed the <br /> following highlights of the Conference with the Board <br /> t <br /> Town of Palmer Library sloes a lot of sharing information with their Schools. Helene added that we <br /> get databases through the Mate, which includes schools as well. <br /> Palmer information on the"'sharing of data" consortium they participated in was given to the Trustees <br /> since it might be helpful to our situation. <br /> Fundraising...Have a section in the Library, for example a Starbucks area,to generate some revenue. <br /> Have a"Media night"and invite all media(Cape Cod Tines, Enterprise,etc.)to introduce staff and <br /> programs to the media to beep them informed. <br /> i <br />
