Lolita McCray motioned to accept the September 15, 2004 minutes as presented;
Jing Chisholm seconded the motion; and all approved, except Jing Marr abstained.
It was noted for the record that there are no minutes for the MCA's meeting scheduled for October 12,
2004 since there was merely an informal discussion held, rather than a formal meeting.
Discussion
A. suggestion was made as part of the October 12 informal discussion to the effect that Melissa Murphy
should submit her needs to the Superintendent of Schools and the Superintendent of Schools should
decide whether or not the requested needs fall in the realm of the MCAT group. This suggestion was
again reviewed and discussed and made part of the record in today's minutes.
Following discussion it was decided that Jim Chisholm would draft a letter to the Superintendent of
Schools requesting clarification of the process for handling requests so there are no redundancies in
requests that are submitted to MCAT in the future. Jing will also include in the letter to Patricia Parolski,,
Superintendent of Schools, a side note that there was some confusion at the last meeting in that a similar
request had cone from Melissa,and Patricia and MCAT had to table the matter since we did not know
which to act on. Also, vire don't know when school funds have been tapped.
Jim Chisholm wiH also draft a letter to all department heads outlining theprocess to be following in
submitting requests to MCA's. Jim will e-mail the draft letters to MCAT members for their review.
