BOARD of SELECTMEN <br /> INUTES <br /> ONDA'Y, JANUARY 11 , 1988 - Regular Session <br /> PRESENT: Selectmen Thomas, Gottlieb, Lawrence, Hanson and carter , and <br /> Executive- ecretary, Joseph F. Murphy <br /> GUESTS : Elizabeth Petti , Len Gobeil , Judy Mills , Sue Billing <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> oo - Selectmen conducted a public hearing that had been previously <br /> continued relative to the Mashpee Common signs. <br /> Mr. Storrs representative from Mashpee Commons explained that it <br /> was an honest Mistake that the sign had been placed on Town property <br /> and that the Town had been added to their certificate of insurance . <br /> Mr. Storrs pointed out the sign would remain on Town property even <br /> .it is moved back as agreed upon. <br /> After further discussion Selectman Hanson roved to permit the sign <br /> based on the agreement that the signs will be turned parallel with <br /> the road and it meets the satisfaction of the Building Inspector. <br /> Selectman Lawrence seconded the Motion. Selectmen Hanson , Lawrence <br /> Gottlieb and carter were in favor. Selectman Thomas abstained . <br /> Selectman Thomas asked that the Board consider that any sign o <br /> Town property be subject to an annual fee structured with- other <br /> permit fees . Selectman Thomas would also like to see an amendment <br /> to the By-Laws to allow Selectmen the authority to charge a fee <br /> whether new or grandfather . <br /> No action was taken by the Board. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1 Selectmen were requested to vote to accept the definitive plan of the <br /> Bowdoin Road taking. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb moved to accept the definitive plan of Bowdoin Road <br /> based on the fact that the Planning Board did hold a public hearing . <br /> Selectman Hanson seconded the motion. Selectmen Hanson, Lawrence, <br /> Gottlieb and carter were in favor . Selectman Thomas abstained . <br /> 2 Selectmen were asked to allow the Clerk-of-the-Works for the new <br /> school to participate in the Town' s life insurance program. <br /> Selectman Lawrence roved to deny the request to have the Clerk-of-the-Works <br /> for the new school participate in the Town' s life insurance program, <br /> Selectman Thomas seconded the motion. vote was unanimous. <br /> Selectmen received a communication from the Mashpee Watmpano g Indian <br /> Tribal council Inc . objecting to a legal ad relative to a public hearing <br /> held by the Bord' of Appeals. <br /> The Board asked that it be forwarded to the Board of Appeals , Shellfish <br /> Constable and Harbormaster. <br /> M <br />
