lop BOARD OF SELECTMEN INUTES UESD Y, JANUARY 19, 1988 - Regular Session PRESENT: Selectmen Thomas , Gottlieb and Lawrence, and Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy GUESTS : Ernie Virgilio , Elizabeth Petti , Vernon Thomas, Gail McNabb, Sue Billings, and Finance committee members Selectman Thomas convened the meeting at 7 p.m. Diane Pettingill , President of the Mashpee Business Association presented the Board with a plague which they would like displayed at Town Hall . The plague was in appreciation for all those who helped with the lighting of the trees at the rotary. MINUTES Selectman Gottlieb roved to accept the November 3, 31 16 and 23 , 1987 regular and executive sessions . Selectman Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor . APPOINTMENTS HEA INGS 7 : 00 - Selectmen met with the Finance committee to go over the February I special town meeting warrant. The Finance committee made their recommendations and the Selectmen agreed as to who would make the motions for each article . 7 : 52 Selectmen met with Mr . Fred Peters who was representing the VFW lost #5489 to see if it would be possible to use the old DPW building and land for the post, legion etc. Selectmen took this under advisement to talk to the Town Planner . Selectman carter will work with Mr . Peters and cone back to the Board with a recommendation. OLD BUSINESS 1 Selectman Lawrence moved the Board of Selectman declare null and void the contract between the Town and Clauson Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Inc. dated May 13, 1987 through which the firm was to provide a one ton truck to the Department of Public Works for $16, 894- 03. Further Selectman Lawrence moved the Board of Selectmen award the contract to Buckler ' s GMC Inc . to provide a one ton truck to the DPW at a cost f $17r987 . Selectman carter seconded both motions . Vote was unanimous . t Selectman Lawrence updated the Board as to the status of the Fire chief candidate, Selectman Lawrence explained that he spent a couple of days meeting with former employers and everything that was in the resume is true.
