40- <br /> BOARO OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, MARCH 2 1 , 1988 <br /> *resent : Selectmen Thomas , Gottlieb, Hanson � Lawrence and Carter, and <br /> Executive Secretary, Joseph F. Murphy <br /> Guests-; Wendy Dubin ,, Phil Wilson, Torn Fudalc, Dr. Elizabeth Petti, <br /> and Rev. McBride <br /> Selectman Thomas convened the meeting at 7 : 10 .m. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Wendy Rubin <br /> e erence was made to Phil Wilson ' s March 211 1988 letter to the Board <br /> regarding improvements to Heritage Memorial Park. Some of the items <br /> discussed were; rail posts for the purpose of safety ( traffic) . Mr. <br /> Lawrence brought up the question of the condition of the fields <br /> after the football season and that the Town of Mashee should not have <br /> to pay for the upkeep of the fields due to the Cape Cod Bears . Colony <br /> Youth League meeting was to be held Tuesday, March- 22 , 1988 and Phil <br /> cor ie would be sure that membe-rs concur with Mr. Wilson ' s letter and <br /> advise Ms . Rubin , <br /> VFW - Tom Fudula, Planner discussed potential sites for the VFW Post <br /> with comments from Charlie Hicks and Fred Peters . All agreed that <br /> Mr. Murphy should include this in next weeps agenda. <br /> 4kElizabeth Petti discussed a compromise (which will be legal) between <br /> Selectmen and the Charter members where current financial advisory <br /> ard will continue its role as an advisory hoard, but assume an active <br /> role in preparing the budget with the legislature which will be one <br /> elected member from each town. This was agreed upon by current FAB, <br /> Selectmen and Charter Commission members . This will be finalized <br /> at Thursday night ' s meeting. Mr. Carter stated that Dr. Petti had <br /> done a very good job for the Town of Mashee. <br /> Reverend McBride - Discussion regarding Mashpee Baptist Church -- conversion <br /> plans for a recreation Center for Mashee youth. <br /> Mr. Gottlieb motioned to issue a permit to waive the fee for six <br /> video game machines in the basement of the Mash ee ,Baptist Church. All <br /> were in favor. <br /> At this point , Phil Wilson requested to re-address the board to obtain <br /> commitment from Selectmen that the Cape Cock Bears can play in l ash ee . <br /> Selectman Gottlieb suggested that Mr. Wilson put together a proposal <br /> stating what he planned to do in return for use of the field and the <br /> Board would b.e willing to review this . <br /> R <br />
