' k L h <br /> F F <br /> ,t <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN ' <br /> MINUTES <br /> DA , APRIL, 5 , 1988 - Regular Session <br /> 1 6,CENT : Selectmen Thomas , Gottlieb, Hanson , Lawrence and Carter and <br /> Executive Secretary, Joseph F, Murphy <br /> GUESTS : Wendy Rubin , Joanne Ferragamo,, Finance Committee Members <br /> MINUTE <br /> Selectman Gottlieb moved to accept minutes for March 28 , 1988 Regular <br /> ular <br /> Session and March 28 ,1 1988 Executive Session . Selectman Lawrence seconded <br /> the motion , Mr. Carter and Mr. Hanson were not present at the time . <br /> APPOINTMENTS . & HEARINGS <br /> Wendy Rubin. appeared before the board with a request for exemption from <br /> conflict of interest issue relative to her involvement with the rational Youth <br /> Sports Coaches Association . <br /> Some questions were raised by Mr. Lawrence regarding training programs for <br /> coaches - what do they consist of , how many coaches attend? Should this <br /> training be mandatory. The board would need to vote on this issue to make <br /> it mandatory. <br /> Mr. Carter moved to authorize an exemption of conflict of interest pursuant <br /> to Chapter 268A, Section 19 (b) . Mr. Gottlieb seconded the motion . All were <br /> + favor. Mr. Hanson ohs t ained from voting. <br /> rther discussion regarding soccer/baseball field problems . It was agreed <br /> by all that town owned land should be provided to these organizations . <br /> Ms . Rubin also handed out a draft of 1988 Beach Sticker Regulations which <br /> will be reviewed by the board at a later date. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Cape cod Convention Center - Mr , ' Murphy requested direction from the board <br /> n this issue , Mr. Lawrence stated than the building inspector needed- to <br /> look into the legality - re: existing businesses and the parking issue. <br /> Potential VFW Sites - Mrs . Hanson asked Mr. Gottlieb and Mr. Lawrence <br /> if they would have information on potential sites for next week' s agenda - <br /> they both agreed to this , <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1 . Mr. Gottlieb moved to appoint Paul Somerville to the position of <br /> Shellfish constable . Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> Cablevision Committee appointments - Mr. Murphy requested that the board <br /> defer action on this item until next week. Mrs . Thomas agreed. <br /> Merino from Finance Committee re: User Fees for Torn Owned Grounds - <br /> r . Thomas felt the memo was unclear and the matter needs to be <br /> looked into. <br /> w <br />
