BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, April 19 , 1988 - Regular Session <br /> PRESENT: Selectmen Thomas , Gottlieb, Hanson, Lawrence and Carter and <br /> Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy <br /> GUESTS : Wendy Rubin, Richard Halpern, Attorney Brian Garner, <br /> Finance Committee Members , Chief Ridgeway and Andrew Eliaon <br /> Selectman Thom' as convened the meeting at 7 : 00 p .m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr. Lawrence moved to accept minutes of April 11 , 1988 regular and <br /> Executive Sessions , r.-. Hanson seconded the motion . Mrs . Thomas <br /> was in favor. Mr. r� o-t t 1-ie ` and Mr. Carter were not present at the <br /> time. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEADINGS <br /> 1 . Discussion regarding 198$ Beach Stickers , Ms . Rubin recommended <br /> an increase from $8 . 00 per year to $15 . 00 per year or $25 . 00 <br /> for a two year sticker. Mr. Lawrence could not support a fee <br /> increase since the town ""is not offering any additional services <br /> to the taxpayers .' Ms . Rubin stressed the importance of a two <br /> year sticker for 1 . savings in printing costs and 2 . less staffing <br /> firs <br /> required for selling stickers . <br /> Mr. Lawrence moved to have a two year sticker .at $16 .00 ( showing <br /> no increase from last year) . Mr. Carter seconded the motion. <br /> Mrs, Thomas was in • favor.,., . r. Hanson and Mr. Gottlieb were <br /> f <br /> opposed. - <br /> 2 . Cape Cod -Convention Center - continuance of hearing - Continued <br /> discussions regarding application submitted by this . establishment <br /> Attorney Kevin Kirrane submitted a letter stating that Mr. Halpern . <br /> was eliminating his request for pool tables and substituting it <br /> with two video machines . <br /> Mr. Lawrence stated that this license, along with the liquor <br /> license is a privilege and that it is the owner' s responsibility <br /> to run his business properly. He stated that the issue should <br /> not be how many pool tables or video machines or the extension <br /> of the entertainment license to Sunday, but that the operation <br /> should be run in a responsible manner or the town could revoke <br /> all licenses . - <br /> one member frim the public was in favor of the additional licenses . <br /> Nis #` 5udY "Mill waS opposed, as was Carol Jatcobson,, <br /> 1 <br />
