Answer: There is reason to believe he was. aware, al- <br /> though the claim has been rade that Mr. Triplett, the new Assistant <br /> Bar Manager, has been handling all matters there. <br /> The Chief was asked if the Bar is still open? He stated that they <br /> are open and were doing business there last night. <br /> Chief further stated that there is evidences that the operation has <br /> not been buying from wholesalers , probably due to poor credit, but <br /> has been buying from retailers. It is believed that they have been <br /> doing some purchasing from Rotary Liquors . <br /> sel . Thomas asked if the Chief thought this was a front place? He <br /> responded, "It could be, " <br /> Mr. Hughes, who is listed as the Manager, goes there just once in <br /> a while, according to reports. <br /> 2 Jim' s Package store (Rotary Liquors ) ; regarding this incident, the <br /> Chief thirds there may be criminal charges. The man who made the <br /> Sunday purchase claimed he was buying the liquor for- Roberto#s <br /> Quiche and Chowder House. The extent of Roberto' s involvement is <br /> unknown. oberto' s shouldn 't be buying from a retailer-. Sel. Thomas <br /> suggested the Chief Pheck with wholesalers to confirm whether or not <br /> he has been dealing with therm. Chm. Garland suggested asking hire to <br /> proodue receipts. <br /> This incident will require a Hearing, which was tentatively set for <br /> 3: 30 on August 26th, to decide on revocation of license. <br /> This package store is under suspect as being a place for "exchange" . <br /> 1 Returning to this incident, Chm. Garland stated the Bank should be <br /> sent a letter thanking there for their cooperation. <br /> 3 ) The Chief asked if the Town wanted the old car which was confiscated <br /> in the previous raid, for in--house purposes. He pointed out that it <br /> has taken three nnonths for things to jell. The Selectmen discussed <br /> the possibilities for such use. <br /> Chief Frere reported that the department has been offered a sniper <br /> rifle for purchase, He pointed out that while there have no hostage <br /> cases here, that seers to be happening with increasing frequency. <br /> This kind of weapon .would be most useful in that event, it is in, ex- <br /> cellent condition, and can be purchased for $ o.
