Reardon. <br /> GUESTS: Elliot Smoler, Curtis Woodbury, Wendy Rubinj Elizabeth Simpson, <br /> Jane Peterson, Robert eEorY, Ursula Howard, John C, Howard, Jr, , <br /> John [mina, Brian .Harrison, and Anne Fitzgerald, Attorney Michael <br /> Gilman. <br /> 2 : 00 p.m. - hr .. 'Thomas convened the meeting. <br /> Lotion by Selectman Garland to accept the minutes of the February 9 , <br /> 1983 Regular M6eting and the Executive Session as written. Seconded by <br /> Selectman Hanson. This is a vote.. <br /> 2 :00 p.m.. - Chm, Thomas introduced i t# Elliot Smoler as the Housing. <br /> Authority Chairman and explained that the Board had written to <br /> Mr.. moler asking-him ithere were any funds available for <br /> elderlyhousing and for other housing projects ._ Chm,, 'Thomas <br /> also stated that if there were possibly the method could .be <br /> brought up to a developer who night be interested in a project <br /> like that. <br /> Mr. smoler responded by bringing the Board up to date. He said <br /> that the Housing Authority. was reogni zed= y the Secretary of <br /> State in Septemberf 1982, and they have had 'a full contingency <br /> until recently when, one of their members passed away. He. stated <br /> that- the new appointment has been made . and .the individual, he <br /> believes , has been' sworn in. He said the problem is with the. <br /> attendance to meetings by the Commission members., and in order <br /> to do business there must be a quorum, this is one of there- <br /> roblems. He hopes this will be corrected at the March meeting. <br /> Mr. Smol_er said that there are funds available and must. be filed <br /> for in may or June to the Federal and later on for the State. <br /> hm, Thomas asked flir . �'Smoler- llf he thought it would help for <br /> the selectmen to send a memo to the members .expressing their <br /> concerns about the meetings , Mr, Smoler said that this might <br /> help. Board thanked hire for coming. <br /> 2 : 00 p,m, on the Commonwealth Electric Public Hearing, Board defered <br /> action until a sworn affidavit is received from therm starting <br /> that Lacava Trust is indeed the owner of the land. <br /> 2 :15 p.m. Mr, Umina brought in- a statement 'of the hours that Quashnet <br /> Valley Lounge would be open and stated that the Board of Health <br /> would be there to inspect on Thursday. Sel. Garland 'moved <br /> to approve the hours and allow the license pending the Board <br /> of Health's inspection. Seconded by Sel, Hanson, This is a <br /> vote. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Sed.. Hansom explained the letter -from Mr. v. i. Cassese, District <br /> Highway Engineer relative to changing .of. --the speed limit on Route <br /> , .half rile south-west of the Mashpee Rotaryr which the Executive <br /> Secretary had been asked to look into. <br />
