BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING June 15 , 1983 PRESENT: Chairman Chester A. Garland, Selectman Will rd L• Hanson n Selectman Richard L. Terry. GUESTS: Pauline DeLory, Jane Peterson., Wayne Tavares , Ed' Hartin, Robert Hallett, Donald L. Jermyn, Raymond Mello, Richard French,Fra lk Hicks , Harold Collins and Peter Jacobson, 6 : 0.3 p. t. - Ch i-rman Garland convened the regular meeting. Lotion by sel. Hanson, to approve the minutes of the June 8 , 1983 Regular Meeting. Seconded by Chip.' Garland, Motion Carried. 6 : 03 p,m. - As Pauline DeLory was the only one present from the Conservation Commission at this time Chm. Garland said that. they would wait for a while to see - if any other member of the Conservation Com- mission om- missi n would show up. OLD BUSINESS: 1. on the application for a License from Cape Cod & Hyannis Railroad, Inc., the Board decided to hold a public hearing on this matter on July 13 , 1983 at :00 p.m. NEW BUSINESS: i. on the letter from Ms , l uth-. H lfeld. requesting permission to do an archeological survey at South Cape Beach , state Park, the Board approved with stipulations as follows : l no digging is permitted on .the town roadways or -the beach parking lot at any time, 2 . before - any construc- .tiah equipment exits town roadways ,into an area in which a street cut does not exist, provisions of town bylaws will be applicable, speci fically the' requirements for -a permit from the street superintendent and filing of a bond. These stipulations were submitted by the Executive Secretary. Motion by. Sel. Hanson and seconded by Sel . Terry. to approve the Executive Secretary 's draft of the letter to Ms-. H lfeld.. Motion Carried. . n the appointment of a secretary in theSelectmen 's office, Sed.. Hanson- moved to postpone this natter for one week. Seconded by el:. Terry. Motion Carried. ChmGarland asked i f�.theme was any other old -or new business to discuss . sel. Hanson said that he would like a notice- seat to the Personnel Board that the vacancy on the Board should be advertised. This is his recommendations He feels thin would allow the taxpayers to submit their names if they are interested. Chm. Garland said that on the report from the Executive Secretary on the Solid Waste Project relative to the Stelec Company, has - reservations .o what they wart to and he is going to find out what the , situation is .
