r i. BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING February 1-,' 1984 PRESENT: Chairman Chester A. Garland, Selectman Richard L. Terry, Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon and Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. GUESTS : Mr. Raphael Collins , Mrs . B. Jean Thomas, Mr.. Thomas Devane, Mr, Robert Deiory, Mr. John Malone and the Taxpayers Association. 6 :00 p.m. - chairman Garland convened the February 1, 1984 , elec.tmeri' s meeting. Notion by Selectman' Terry to approve the minutes of the January 18 , 1984 and January 25 , 1984 regular meetings as written:'`-j 'e nde-l--by h firman Garland. This is a vote. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS 6 : 00 p.m. - Chm. Garland convened the: public hearing on the Federal Revenue Sharing. Executive secretary noted that no o.ne was in the cafeteria. Chm. Garland asked if there were any recommendations. Executive Secretary recommended that $2500 be expanded and appropriated as article- 22 of the special town meeting states for Council on Aging to buy a refrigerator, copy machine and radiation for the Senior Center Annex. Board concurred ,and Chm. Ga hand stated that no action was necessary on this request, He further asked if anyone present had any other comments. Hearing none Chm. Garland closed the hearing at 6 : 03 p.m. 6 : 03 .p.m., Chm. Garland convened the' public hearing on Nr. Raphael Collins' application to operate a taxi cab service. Mr. Collins was present. Cham. Garland hoted that the hearing had been advertised.. Executive secretary, Joseph F. Murphy, stated that there was comr►unication on this matter from the Police Chief and the Building Inspector per the Board' s request. Chm. Garland said that there were two facts that had to be presented. The first is that there is no provision in our zoning by-lags that allows the operation of this service from a residential area; and, secondly no arrangements have been made with lir.
