BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING March 21, 1984 PRESENT; Chairman Chester A. Garland, - Selectmen Willard L. Hansom. and Richard L. Terry, Executive Secretary Joseph Y. Murphy. Garland convened the Selectmen' s meeting at 7 : 00 p.m. Motion by Sel. Terry to approve the minutes of. the March 13 , 198 Administrative Meeting 'arid the minutes of.. the March 1 . 1984 Regular Meeting. Seconded by Sel. Manson., Motion Carried. - APPOINTMENTS AND- HEARINGS 7: 00 p.m. - Board held a public hearing on the application of, Mr. David Burton, for a- re tail package' goods store license for the sale of wine and beer. Executive secretary, Joseph Murphy read the public hearing notice and stated that all the necessary documents were in order. He than asked Mr. Burton for the return receipts 01 notices to abutters . Chm. Garland named all the abutters . . and stated that the record should show 'that all the abutters were notified. Nis. Fulham, Attorney representing Mr. Burton stated that Mr. Burton was the owner of two stores like the one 'he hopes to open at Deer crossing. one of t ' tores is in Barnstable and the other is in sterville'. y Nor. Burton gave some background on himself and said that he would like the wine and beer -license to compliment his gourmet. and cheese merchandise. He stated that he would ,esp ecially like. to have it- around the holidays. He said that the store would be opened from 9 : 00 -a.m. to 9 : 00 p.m. -arid that he .would be on the premises. c ry. Garland asked if Mr. Burton could give one reason why the license would serve -the public good. Mr. Burton replied that it is a personalized service and that. it is unique. Attorney Fulham said he would have a full compliment in the shop and it would bring- good cl.ientel as there is nothing quite like it in the area. Mr. Burton said- the floor plan shows how little space the beer and wine will take. el. Terry asked if the closing time was 9 : 00 p.m. Mr. -Burton replied that it was. Se-1. Terry asked if it was all retail.. Mr. Burton said yes that it was and that he was not requesting tables . sel. Hanson asked what building at Deer Crossing this store would be in. Mr. Burton said 'at the opposite end of Comolli ' s. sel# Hanson stated that it would be the closest store- to
