BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> April 1 , 1984 <br /> PRESENT: Chairman Willard L. Hansen and Selectman Richard L.. Terry. <br /> GUESTS : Mrs, B. Jean Th man, Mr. Vernon Thomas , Ms. Arlene Hoxie, Mr. <br /> Curtis Woodbury and Mr. Ernest Virgilio. <br /> Chairman Ranson convened the Selectmen' s meeting of- April 18, 1984 at 7 : 00 <br /> .rte. and immediately recessed the meeting to-. go to the cafeteria for the <br /> Federal- Revenue Sharing public hearing. <br /> hm. Hanson convened the public hearing and react the public hearing notice <br /> that was printed in the Enterprise on Aril 3. 1984. <br /> In attendance was Chm. Hanson, Sel. Terry, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas, and Ms. Arlene <br /> Hoxie. <br /> Mrs . B. Jean Thomas recommended that, if the money from Federal Revenue <br /> Sharing- was not already appropriated- in the warrant, that the money be used <br /> for the torn -ezl.oree' salaries that have been cut. <br /> hm. Hanson said that this would be a good i-dea and said this would be taken <br /> under advisement. <br /> Ab. there were no other requests, Chm. Hansom closed the Federal Revenue <br /> aring hearing at 7 :07 p.m. <br /> hm. Hanson reconvened• the SelectmenI-s meeting .and .as the next appointment <br /> was not until 7 :15 p.m. went- directly to new business after the motion by- <br /> Sel . Terry to approve the minutes of •the' April 11., 1984 Regular meeting, <br /> which was seconded by Chm. Hanson and a vote. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> INESS <br /> 1. Chit, Hanson stated that a letter had been 'received from the owner of <br /> Bobby Byrnes Pub relative to. a seminar that is - oink to tale place. <br /> concerning drinking and driving.. The seminar is going to be presented <br /> by Mr. Byrnes and • Mr. Jeff' Moore, Vice , President. These seminars will <br /> be held on Monday and Tuesday,, April 23/24 in the Horse- Latitudes room <br /> of Bobby Byrnes in Mashpee and Saturday April 28 at the pub in Rayhha t. <br /> Chan. Hanson said that they. would lite to invite certain. members of the <br /> public and anyone in the media who would- be interested in the horrific <br /> social and moral and human problems generated by drinking and driving. <br /> hm, Hanson also stated that attendance• was mandatory for all their <br /> employees- and he feels this i.s a good positive attitude for our community. <br /> Motion by Sel, Terry to appoint Paula, Soltis to the Parks and Recreation <br /> Advisory Committees Seconded by Chm. Hanson. This is a vote. <br /> . ) Chm. Hanson made note that the Board was signing the warrant for, the <br /> official ballot and that the warrants for the Annual Town Meeting <br /> and the Special 'down Meeting of May 7, 1984 were being signed also. <br />
