r � }f BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING May 1 , 1984 PRESENT: Chairman Willard L.. Hanson, Selectmen Richard L. Terry and B. Jean Thomas and Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy. GUESTS : Mr. Curtis Woodbury, Mr, Vernon Thomas, Mr, Chester Koblinsky, Ms. Arlene Hoxie, Mr. Frank Hoy eye r and Ms . Jane - William. list of persons attending the meeting with the Corps of Engineers eers is attached. Mr. Homeyer asked that the Board contact the Governor' s office and get Ms . Ham appointed to the Mashpee Housing Authority. Sel. Terry will pursue. Sel. Terry also asked what was happening with the meeting that was to be et up with- Mr, Samuelson from the postal service. Mr. Murphy replied r that a letter had been sent but no reply had been received as yet. Nor. Murphy will pursue. 7 :00 p.m. - Chan. Hanson convened the May 16F 1984 Selectmen' s meeting at 7 : 00 p.m. Mr. Murphy recommended the Board reorganize, Sel. Terry nominated Sel. Hanson as Chairman of the Board. This motion was seconded by Sel. Thomas This is a vote. chat. Hansom nominated Sel, Terry as vice-Chairman, seconded by Sel. Thomas. This is a vote. Sel. Terry nominated Sel. Thomas as clerk of the Board. This was seconded by Chm. Hanson. - This is a vote. AZ Board recessed to' . the cafeteria for a meeting with the Corps of - Engineers . Representatives of the corps of Engineers were Mr. Richard DeSimone, Mr. Collis Adams and Mr. buss Bellmer. They came to discuss the proposed dredging of Popponesset Bay. Mr. DeSimone informed everyone that this did not meet the economic critirea and therefore it was unlikely that navigational ational im ro ements could be funded by the federal. government. Discussion continued on how the Town could renourish the Spit and the need to stabilize the Spit. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS : to p.m. - Board met with Mr. Oliver Poc nett, President of the Mashpee lam anoa Indian Tribal ,. ounei l, Inc. and approved- his request to allow the Pow-Wow to be conducted at the ballfields this year rather than at Collin' s lot. Motion by Sel. Terry to approve the minutes o�f the May. 8, .1984 Administrative meeting and the minutes of the May 9, 1984 Regular meeting. Seconded. by Chr . Hanson. Sel , Thomas abstained. This is a vote. OLD BUSINESS : l. - motion by Sel. Terry to appoint Ms , March Dardano to- the Conservation commission for a term of three years. Seconded by Sed.. Thomas. Motion Carried.
