. 1 <br /> w <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9, 1985 <br /> PRESENT: Selectman Hanson, Selectman Terry and Selectman Thomas, Executive Secretary, <br /> Joseph F. Murphy and Town Counsel , Joseph J. Reardon <br /> GUESTS: Douglas Boyd, Arlene Roxie, Monica McNally, Eugene Narr, Marilyn Farren, ah'd <br /> Ben Lofchie <br /> Selectman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 p.m. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> 7:00 Mr. Murphy explained to the Board that the Fire Lieutenants that were scheduled <br /> for this time were not able to attend due to the fact that they in the process <br /> of cleaning up from a fire%. Mr. Murphy pointed out that the Building Inspector <br /> had asked to speak to the Board regarding the Fire Department. <br /> Mr, Boyd asked to go on record commending the Fire Department for a job well <br /> done relative to the above mentioned fire. Mr. Boyd said the fire department <br /> was ab-le to keep -thn level of damn g6 minimal . <br /> Selectmen asked Mr. Murphy to reschedule the promotional ceremony for the Fire <br /> Lieutenants. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. The Governor' s Highway safety Bureau notified Selectmen that the tern will b <br /> reimbursed $1010 for Work Zone Protection Kit. This kit consists of horses, signs <br /> etc. <br /> . selectmen received a response -from the Department of Public Works, District <br /> office relative to a letter sent to them on December 7, 1984 regarding an <br /> accident cin Route 28 which .resulted in personal injury . <br /> Selectman Hanson explained to those in attendance the situation involving the <br /> State where the Town is trying to reduce the speed limit on route 28 from <br /> Deer Crossing to the Rotary but with no avail . <br /> Selectman Hanson also pointed out that the Town will continue to send copies of <br /> all accident+ reports pertaining to this area to the state until something is done. <br /> . selectmen received two change orders from the Mashpee Public Works Building <br /> Committee for the Public Works Garage. <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out that this charge orders had been approved by the Building <br /> Committee and needed the approval of the Selectmen. <br /> Selectmen voted to approve the change orders and proceeded to sign the orders. <br /> Selectman Hanson pointed out that the projected completion date was just two <br /> weeks away. <br /> L_. <br />
