(Note Chairman Hanson arrived 5 minutes after the <br /> meeting commenced) . The Executive ecretart', Joseph Murphy, was <br /> also present. <br /> el . Thomas convened the meeting promptly at :00 p #r . <br /> Minutes of October I and Executive Sessions <br /> el t Lawrence roved to accept the Board of Selectmen's minutes of <br /> October 1 , 1986 and Executive Sessions. Sel . Thomas seconded. <br /> So voted <br /> t.= <br /> APPOINTMENTSAND HEARINGS <br /> 'Mr . French res. Pole Hear i n Time Charge <br /> -'Mr . French of Commonwealth Electric ret with the Board proposing a <br /> change in the way utility pole hearings are conducted. He said <br /> that a lot of other towns as well as the company find it more <br /> convenient to conduct the hearings during the day. He asked the <br /> Board of Selectmen to consider daytime hours for the hearings <br /> suggesting that they designate the Executive ecretart' or the Town <br /> Engineer surveyor as the Hearing Officer . The Board was presented <br /> with a copy of the general law which vests the power to the <br /> Selectmen . They were also given a breakdown of how the procedure <br /> would work with the only change being the hours. <br /> S l . Lawrence asked how rang hearings the Board has on an a erage'P <br /> Mr . French replied not all that frequently. <br /> el . Thomas asked if the abutters are notified? Mr . French <br /> replied yes. The Executive Secretary said that they have <br /> specific fora for that purpose . <br /> After a short discussion of who would be designated as the Hearing <br /> Officer, Sel . Lawrence roved to have the hearings held during <br /> normal office hours under the direction of the Executive Secretary <br /> or his nominee . Sel . Thomas seconded. Vote was unanimous <br /> Gramm. Electric Hearing - Joint Pole So. Sandwich Rd. <br /> Mr . French of Corn. Electric was present on the petition of Mr . <br /> Peter Michaelson to conduct a hearing to supplyservice to a <br /> underground development an Hickory Ci rc l e t Thi pole will be a <br /> joint pole on Sandwich fond which will supply i l i t i e to the <br /> northerly si de of Hickory Circle . e l # Hanson asked the D.P.W. <br /> Director if he had any problems with it . Ernie Virgilio replied <br /> 11none at ll " , Nobody else present objected. <br />
