Executive Secretary, Joseph Murphy, was also present. <br /> The Chairman convened the meeting at 7: 00 Po Mo <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> 1. Deerfield Road conditions * It was ascertained that a <br /> portion of Deerfield Road suffers severe flooding during heaver or pro- <br /> longed rainy weather or other conditions prompting accumulation of <br /> water, It is Mr. virgilio's recommendation that that section of the <br /> road be ra.is ed , that catch basins are not adequate . Don Fullman resi- <br /> dent <br /> esi- <br /> dent of that neighborhood, stated that passage is dangerously limited <br /> because of the flooding. Estimated of the cost of repair work is. <br /> $50 , 000. 00. based on analysis made by Charles Riley. Mr. Murphy said, <br /> "It is my understanding of the November vote of the Board is that the <br /> Board is going to the Annual Town Meeting with a revised layout of the <br /> roadway plan for the taking and to seek the autho i ati on to borrow <br /> .$50,000, 00, to be refunded to the Town on the basis of betterments" . <br /> Ir. Murphy stated further,, "If the plan calls for drainage easements , <br /> then an article will have to be presented for drainage easements by <br /> eminent domain" . Mr. Virgilio will examine plans in even more detail <br /> to see if work can be dome without drainage easements <br /> (Note : This meeting proceeded out of order of the scheduled a.genda.. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Personal services eement - Town of l ashpee and the <br /> DeputyFire+ ,Chief. r. Murphy amd neputy Chief Dong have negotiated <br /> the turns of the agreement which has been signed by the Deputy Fire <br /> Chief: seleetwornan. Thomas moved t0- authorize,.',-the Chairr an of the <br /> Board of Selectmen to execute the agr'eement between the Town and the <br /> Deputy Fire Chief, Robert W. Long. Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion <br /> which was unanimously carried. <br /> 2. MooriW nE By-law, Mr. Murphy advised that the Attorney <br /> General approved the Mooring By-law on January 7P 1987. Assistant <br /> Harbormaster Halpern has been notified and is preparing the logistical <br /> aspects of the matter. Mooring permits and applications is being pre- <br /> pared. Bills for the mooring permits will be going out within the <br /> next month or so, <br /> 3. T of is Corridor Consultant. The Board has received <br /> a. proposed article for the Annual Town Meeting from -the Town Planner <br /> which article will provide $15,000. -to fund a traffic corridor con- <br /> sultant study with the Town of Falmouth. The total cost of the study <br /> is expected to be $55,000. The balance cost of $4o.000, will be a. <br /> Torn of Falmouth expense . yrs . Thora.s -moved to insert such article <br /> on the Warrant for ual .Town Meeting. Selectman Lawrence seconded <br /> this motion which was unanimously carried. <br />
