Board of Selectmen <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> Wednesdayv February 18 , 1987 <br /> Board r ember present, Willard Han ori, Chairman; Be Jean Thomas . <br /> Executive Secretary, os e p Murphy, was also present, <br /> Chairman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 : 00 Pe Me <br /> Selectwoman Thomas roved to accept the minutes of the following <br /> meetings : Administrative Meeting of Februa.rY 3 , 1987* Executive <br /> Session of February 3, 1987 ; Regular meeting of February 4, 1987; <br /> Executive Session of February 4. 1987 ; Regular Meeting of February 11, <br /> 1987; and Executive Session o f February 11, 1987, The vote was <br /> unanimous . <br /> Appointments and Hearings : <br /> 1. Conservation Commission ', a The Board 'inter- <br /> viewed candidates Heater Urquhart ,and Joseph Burns , both residents <br /> of the Tower.. It was unanimously decided to appoint Heather Urquhart <br /> as a regular member and Mr. Burrs as an associate member. <br /> 2. New Libras: - Amendment ent t o Contract of Paul McLaughline <br /> Mr. S c a.ughn- ess y discussed extending Nor. MCLaughlin's contract for <br /> four weeks . He stated that there are funds available to cover this . <br /> Mrs .. Thomas made motion on o amend the Contract of Paul McLaughlin, <br /> Clerk-of-the-works or the new Library to provide for an extension of <br /> said contract for a, period of four weeks . The vote was unanimous ,, <br /> Old Business <br /> 1. Police Department ent - vacancy for Police officer position, <br /> The Personnel Board has requested direction from the Board of Selectmen <br /> regarding a, vacancy created by the resignation of Patrolman Bangs . <br /> Chief Frye stated that this vacancy will create an over-tire situation <br /> in theDepartment, He further stated that it is his opinion that the <br /> Department does require the manpower of .a. ing this position filled. <br /> Board members unanimously agreed to .instruct the Personnel Board to <br /> continue to work towards filling this Position, <br /> (This meeting proceeded out of order of the scheduled agenda. ) <br /> New Business <br /> I. Police Department tment - Bid for Lock- retro-fittin <br /> Townsend Construction, Inc . of Hingham, has submitted a, bid o , 00 6 <br /> to install the necessary materials to complete the retro-fit improve- <br /> ments ert to the police lock-up. This was the oral bid received. Ir.. <br /> . <br /> Murphy noted that the S-tate . r� v.i ped $5,92 for this purpose, <br /> Mrs . Thomas roved to accept the bid of Townsend Construction, Inc. <br /> in the amount of $5,800. for work as stated. The motion was carried, <br /> 2. Police Department - personnel action.
