Morris Kirsner, Chairman <br /> � Y ■ i..l■P.rYiYll Nr r. ■�r■�w.� <br /> of the South Cape Beach State 'ark Advisory Committee was present to <br /> give an update report particularly on the status of a. Design Contractor <br /> for the Park. Mr. Kirsner referred to his. letter dated March 19, 1987 <br /> to James Gutenso .n, Commissioner of the Commonwealth. Department of <br /> Environmental Management. Mr. Kirsner stated that on April 14 a <br /> Project Designer was selected being Albert veri & Associates of Rhode <br /> Island. Mr. Kirsner detailed the forthcoming acceptance process and <br /> noted that DEM no longer has control of this situation, Mr. Kirsner <br /> requested that the Board of Selectmen to make written communication to <br /> the Executive office of Environmental Affairs and to Francis Keefe <br /> to encourage the prompt, expedint action when; they receive these formal <br /> papers . Mr. Kirsner further stated that it is his understanding that <br /> they will give the Town Beach. and Great Oak Road priority. <br /> 2a Traffic Control Signs on Co uit Road. Beverly Furtado <br /> �■n -- - ■ i ■ ■u.r ■� ■ori ■�■�i.r <br /> was present to discuss and describe a, P'atentially dangerous traffic <br /> situation at Boardely and Cotuit load. she said that she had dis- <br /> cussed the situation with the Director of the DPW and because it is <br /> unclear as to whether the specific area she is concerned about is in <br /> the Town of Sandwich or the Town of Mas pee , it- did not appear h.ope ful <br /> that th.eTown f Mas hpe e could legally post wring signs without <br /> investigation nvestigation into the ratter. Mr. Murphy has inspected the <br /> site and concurs that it is very unusual and potentially dangerous . He <br /> recommended that warning signs be posted, Deputy Chief of Police , <br /> Maurice Cooper, stated that the Police Department- needs to see Town <br /> boundaries defined in that area and will post radar units in the area <br /> to got a. police aspect of the situation. The Chairman instructed Mr. <br /> Virgilio to contact engineers of the Town of Sandwich to search out <br /> lot lines of dwellings and driveways . <br /> 3a -Lina ' Building_ Committee . This matter was previously <br /> discussed at the Regular Meeting ..she Board of Selectmen on April <br /> 1987e Mr. Hanson stated that since that time he has had further dis. <br /> cuss ion with Mr. s haugh yes s E_y axed he is satisfied with the infomation <br /> Mr. Shaugh.nesse r supplied. Mrs * Thomas a.s moved to accept Change order 1 <br /> of Gaffney Associates , Inc . for the construction of the Mashpee Public <br /> Library for the amount Of $3v680o43. raking the total amount of the <br /> contract $471 ,680.43 . Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion and the vote was <br /> unanimous . The contract was executed by the members of the Board, <br /> i <br />
