Reardon <br /> Guests: Jim Vaccaro, Nancy C affyn, Dr. De Tour , Jim C nery, <br /> Elizabeth Pettit Maryanne Gibbs, Janice Mills <br /> The Meeting was Called to Order by Chairman Carter at 6: 08 p.m,, <br /> Approval of Election Warden Resignation. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the resignation <br /> of Mial Folkins as Election warden. <br /> The motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson, The vote of the <br /> Board i s unanimous, The vote is 5-0. <br /> Selectman Hanson asked the Board to submit a Certificate of <br /> Appreciation to Mia.l Elkins for his service to the Town. It is the <br /> consensus o f the Board to do so, <br /> Approval of ClerkZBookkeeper Positiont <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to approve Jean Lundquist for <br /> the position of clerk/bookkeeper in the Accountant' s Office, As per <br /> their request, there will be a partial waiver on benefits during the <br /> six month probation period. <br /> Discussion of the Warrant Articles: <br /> The Board briefly discussed their positions of the Warrant Articles <br /> before the Annum. Town Meeting, <br /> It was noted by Selectman Carter that Mr. Vaccaro and Mr. Harrington <br /> have discussed the agreement with Dr. De dura. of the $100, 000 reduction <br /> of the School Committee' s budget. There is a. split vote of the School <br /> Committee in this discussion. <br /> On the Meeting of April 30, 1991, the Board of Selectmen voted <br /> 3-2 in Favor of a reduction of $150t000. Selectman Carter asks the <br /> Board of their position on this article. <br /> It was not known by the Board of the majority vote of the School. <br /> Committee on this discussion. <br /> With concerns of the prepayment to the Cape Cod Collaborative, it <br /> was advised by Town Counsel it is illegal for prepayment of tuition to <br /> be used for the next fiscal year. This sure: amounts to approximately <br /> a.tely <br /> $57POOOo <br /> The Superinten.dant has requested the Board approve the prepayment <br /> to the Cape Cod Collaborative. <br /> Selectman an Ca.rt er noted the $57, 000 would be a surplus amount to <br /> be .included with the $368,550, He has recommended to remain with the <br /> reduction of $150, 000 for the FY 92 budget. <br /> Selectman Hanson feels the hoard should remain fir with the <br /> reduction. There is still discrepancy f $368o550 $900, 000, we <br /> are in the position to came up with the funds in FY 92 to take care <br /> of any financial difficulties that may occur within the School.
