Highway Department artment - George Tr biano, Supt. of Streets advised <br /> the 'Selectmen that Charles Buckler,ler, GMC, Inc, has not supplied <br /> the Highway Department with one 1979 3/4 ton pickup truck! <br /> which was approved at the- Annual Town Meeting, <br /> ACTION:` Town Counsel called Mr. Buckler. Mr. Buehler is un- <br /> able to furnish a- 1979 GMC 3/4 ton pickup truck, but will honor <br /> his bid with a 1980 model. To be confirmed in writing. <br /> , FIREFIGHTERAPPOINTMENT: Fire Chief Willis present, <br /> Charles Stone, Town Wire Inspector, asked the Board that i <br /> he accepted the open position of full-tire firefighter (re- . <br /> placing Teddy Hendricks) , will he have to give up the wire <br /> Inspector' s job. Mr. Stene also notes that as of December <br /> 10, 1979, . the Town cannot hire a wire Inspector with an electrical <br /> contract business at all. Chapter 1 - Section. 3 2. Under <br /> this new law, Mr. ' Stone would be unable to continue as the <br /> Town wire Inspector. Knowing this, he accepted the appointment. <br /> Motion- by Selectman .Benway to appoint Charles Stone as a full- <br /> time firrefighte . Seconded. Declared unanimous by Selectman <br /> Garland. <br /> 3. ACEC- AUOI T BAY DESIGNATION AND SOUTH CAPE BEACH B <br /> Present: Mr. & Mrs . Peter Sloane <br /> Frank Horeyer <br /> Mr, & Mrs . Don Blakeman <br /> etc. <br /> Approximately 31 Mashpee citizens met with the Board to make <br /> inquiries about these two subjects and to clarify some of the <br /> articles which have appeared in the local newspapers regarding <br /> s arse. <br /> Elizabeth Simpson, spokesman, began by saying she was concerned <br /> about the Town' s position on the State' s takeover of SCB, The <br /> papers indicate a new marina and condominiums to be built b <br /> the New Seabury Corp. She refers to the time that the State <br /> Mouse Speaker, Mr. McGee, came down to review the potential of <br /> the taking of SCB and everyone was in agreement and happy that <br /> the taking would become a reality. what has happened? <br />
