Denise will
email everyone their af#endance to include with letter.
Action Item: Ills. Lopez to set up a meeting with our liaison, Darin Weeks from Cape Cod
Five and Mr. McShane from McShane Builders to discuss the possibility of the
Mashpee Trust purchasing the last lots of the Main Street project to make therm
affordable.
Action Item: Discuss who would like to replace John Paon e on the Barnstable Hone
Consortium.
Action Item: Alice to call Bob Murray.
Action Item: Zella to email Alice her copy of the outcome of the Blue Ribbon Committee.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ialllope informed everyone of the application Charlotte, Zella, and she filled out for funds for
Green Affordable Homes from Cape Light Compact. Because the deadline was within days,
they all acted quickly and had the application submitted two hours before the deadline. There
are different amounts awarded depending on the project. The funds from this could be used
to develop the Mashpee Housing Trusts' first project. If warded the funds, they would need
to be used within two gears of receiving. The funding would be for energy efficiency making
the home sustainable.
• Zella was contacted by our liaison, Darin Weeks from Cape Cod Five regarding a call he
received from Mr. McShane. lir. McShane is interested in selling the remaining lots at the
Dain Street location to make therm affordable. The committee thinks this is a great idea and
could use CPA funds. The Town of Falmouth has done this in the past. The remaining Dain
Street lots would be all one bedroom units going for $149,000. Alice feels this could set a
good precedent and does not necessarily have to be done with the McShane project. Alice
did verify that the committee would have to get approval at town warrant once the CPA has
approved proposals and marded funds. Alice will call Mr. Weeks and McShane Builders to
meet and discuss this further. i alliope will also attend the meeting. All agree that it should be
a lottery and only to residents of Mashpee. All agree that Housing Authority would probably
advertise for the lottery. All members agree that they do not want to have what happened in
another cape town recently to happen in Mashpee and will discuss procedure of lottery
further when time for the lottery drags near. one thing to discuss is contractors profit and
how to mare there 40B without advertising them as affordable. Bob Murray would be a good
person to discuss this with further.
• There is $250,000 in the Cape Cod Commission fund for the Mashpee Housing Trust to use
for a project. Alice thinks it would be a good idea to have a meeting with Mr. Taylor.
