MASHPEE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONBUTTEE MINUTES <br /> March 3,2007 <br /> Present: Zella Elizenberry, Rev. Meeting was not televised. <br /> Approval of Miautes...l o approval. of minutes. <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE, <br /> Action Item: Denise to call ZBA and try to get committee on their agenda <br /> for March 28 to discuss 40 [LI timeline recommendations. <br /> NEW BUSINESS. <br /> Leila Botsford requested information regarding qualifications and process regarding <br /> the Mashpee Housing Trust membership so' that someone from her board could <br /> become a member. Mr. Cahalane discussed the Mashpee Housing Trust with the <br /> Board. He stated that the trust should be used as a tool for this committee to do a. <br /> project. There are five selectmen on the committee and four layman including John <br /> Paone from this committee. The Mashpee Housing Trust will probably not meet until <br /> a project i s in the works and all the leg work is done, The trust i s able to get Mate <br /> funds. The town could also deed lard in the trust#s name for a project. Mr. Cahalane <br /> suggested this committee pick town laud and plot it for affordable .housing Propose ose to <br /> PA. using town owned land. All agree with Mr. Henry that the committee reeds to <br /> get started. It was also suggested that the committee enlist the help of a local builder <br /> like the gentlemen who built the project on Meetinghouse Road. <br /> The con - ittee is passing on the CPA grant at this time as the deadline is April 1, and <br /> the committee does not have any project at this time. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Mr. Teague addressed the committee regarding ghat they are calling Phase III of the <br /> Mashpee Woods,They are still looking to fill the commercial buildings. They have <br /> received their new project eligibility letter from the state. They are to build eight single <br /> family detached units that will be considered a condo by definition only. There will be <br /> seven two bedrooms and one one bedroom. Two units are affordable two bedroom <br /> units for about $160,000 which will be completed by late fall. Theme will be one <br /> common septic system similar to one done before, but not as expensive. W Teague <br /> was requesting a letter of support from the committee regarding flexibility. Ms. Lopez <br /> feels flexibility can be difficult for people understanding the many changes of the <br /> plans. It was clarified that there would not be any charges to the affordable units, but <br /> unfortunately the affordable units could be held up if a market rate home has changes <br />
