26
Mr. Ball stated as a secretary and only as an agent during the last two years.
Mr. Harrington stated that he couldn't ever see her as not having some positive
input. He doesn't know if that equates with the dollar value of her having her. If
there is the one time she doesn't say anything that would be fine. But, he doubted
that that would be few and far between. He is the new man here and she has
helped him so much that he couldn't believe that if she were at any meeting that
she would have some positive input. That has some value right there. Has there
been any budgetary problem that was impacted by having two agents present?
Mr. Ball stated that there had been budgetary problems.
Mr. Doherty stated that the two agents didn't impact the budget on a dollar and
cents issue because it was a trade off on hours.
Mr. Ball stated that we are the only department that does it with two agents
showing up. Conservation does it when needed on specifics.
Mr. Harrington stated that he would not speak for her. However, she may enjoy the
time off for the amount of time that she has put in. The time off is well deserved
obviously. If she wanted the option he would gladly give it to her.
Mr. Ball suggested that the BOH members think about.
Mr. Doherty stated that he didn't disagree with it. But, maybe he was reading too
much into it.
d. BI-weekly Meetings
Ms. Garton asked if the BOH members wanted to continue the bi-weekly meetings.
After an ensuing discussion among the BOH members the decision was made that
the BOH would continue with the bi-weekly. Everyone was comfortable and in
agreement with this decision and arrangement.
Mr. Ball asked what was up on the office hours.
Mr. Harrington stated that the office was open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, he
was here to 4:30 p.m. and he will continue to be.
Mr. Ball asked if it was policy now.
Mr. Harrington stated that it was brought up at the department head meeting that
the official office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Also, for inspectional services if
they come in at 8:00 a.m. the window should be open. There was one thing at the
meeting that was said by Joyce Mason that you could stagger the members of the
department to cover the hours.
OLD BUSINESS
