2
unhappy with this and felt that it was very unfair of them to attack her at this
meeting. She didn't realize that they were going to say the things they were
going to say.
She doesn't know Debbie Murphy and didn't even know her husband's name.
For the neighbors to make these insinuations makes her very unhappy. She
understands that they were looking for someone to blame. However, when you
don't receive complaints you make assumptions that everything is all right.
During the last couple of years she hasn't had the time to mosey along down
So. Sandwich Road and go by the horse barn to see if there are any problems.
At the time that she had gone out there, the issues at hand were the smell of
urine and horses eating the shingles. She spent hours out there day after day
walking the whole perimeter of property trying to detect odors. She could not
detect the odors. Mrs. Murphy stated that she would take care of the shingle
issue. She complied. Ms. Warden continued to go back to the farm for the few
weeks that where left of the summer. The neighbors did not complain at the
end of the summer. June Daley, animal control officer, stated that what Mrs.
Murphy was feeding the horses was allowed. You can't tell someone how to feed
his or her horse. The stables were clean. Ms. Warden stated that she couldn't
find anything other than shingles. She completely re-shingled the area. The
issue was resolved.
Mr. Doherty then stated that the statement was made that every time they
called to complain Mrs. Murphy was notified of the complaint. Mr. Doherty
stated that obviously she was notified because Ms. Warden had to go out and
talk to her. They were implying that Ms. Warden was tipping Mrs. Murphy off.
Ms. Warden replied that in essence, she and Ms. Daley really didn't tip Mrs.
Murphy off. Ms. Daley and Ms. Warden met at the Holly Reservation and came
over to inspect the barn.
Mr. Doherty continued that the neighbors are obviously disturbed by the events
at the farm. They have had problems and it's gotten to the point were they were
unhappy. The neighbors said that they got threatening letters. Mr. Doherty
read the letter. You would or would not be threatened by it depending on what
kind of mood you where in at the time you were reading it. He then reiterated
that he had made a statement to the group at the last meeting that he hates it
when the paramedics tell him "Why don't you close down a certain restaurant, I
got food poisoning there?" His response is "Did you report?" They inevitably say,
"No." Then what do you want the BOH to do? This is a similar situation. Mr.
Doherty stated to the neighbors, "We haven't had a whole lot of complaints."
Therefore, what did they want the BOH to do.
Mr. Doherty continued that he could understand Ms. Warden's concern. The
minutes are what they are. They accurately reflect what was said.
Mr. Harrington joined the conversation stating that Kim Herrera said lots of
things that basically could get her in trouble. He basically allowed her to do
that because it went on public record. It was very silly for her to do that
