17
seven. Mr. Doherty asked if the BOH wanted to take°time to consider this
policy? Mr. Doherty stated that these establishments where going to get fined
anyway.
Mr. Harrington asked if we could clarify between the two establishments.
Mr. Santos made the motion that CVS, Mashpee Commons receives a $100.00
fine for a second offense and Stop & Shop, Rte 151, Mashpee Commons, gets a
$100.00 fine for a second offense. Mr. Ball seconded it. Motion passed.
Mr. Doherty recommended that the BOH spend some time thinking about this
topic. Mr. Doherty then agreed to restate Mr. Santos recommendation. If the
establishment goes for three years with no violations they should receive a
clean slate. Mr. Doherty's recommendation is more of a "rolling history." If the
violation is three years old then it disappears but everything in between stays.
Essentially it gives the establishments a little bit of a break for the new
management people who are being burdened with somebody else's mistakes.
Mr. Harrington then stated if a new manager comes in and he is good. It should
be clean from then on. He is just making the point that if someone new is going
to clean up the shop. It should be clean from that point on.
Mr. Doherty then asked if the consideration should just be given to the big
establishments. What about the mom and pop stores? Their management
doesn't usually change.
Mr. Ball stated that he would like to take some time to review both of these
proposals. The other BOH members agreed to take this up at the next meeting
when there is a full board.
Mr. Doherty suggested that if Mr. Harrington wanted to draw up some policy
based on his recommendations they will review it at the next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
EXECUTIVE SESSION.
Being no further business, Mr. Ball motioned to adjourn this meeting at 8:27
p.m., Mr. Santos seconded, all agreed.
Respectfully s fitted,
Ch t on, Administrative Secretary
