Ellis reminded the committee that watering of newly planted trees will be required every day through
September, at least. Watering of the newly planted trees would be the responsibility of the Seniors.
Ellis inquired about the grassed area, stating that six inches of topsoil would be needed for the grass. It
will be up to the landscape committee to determine where grass is to be planted.
The fountain area will require wiring. JCA will need paper work to request the wiring. Russ Maloney will
consult with the donor of the fountain to determine the amount he is willing to spend toward the fountain
and the cost of wiring.
Dick and Jane Capelotti announced that they are donating $500 toward the purchase of two trees.
FUNDRAISING.
Room Naming. The Great Room will be named after the Roche Brothers. The kitchen will be named
after the Mashpee Commons LLP. The conference room will be named after the Mashpee Men's Club.
The Board of Selectmen at their 5/24/04 meeting will vote upon approval of the room names.
Betty Nichols suggested that it might be appropriate to consider naming a room after Ellie Hatcher, who
has done a great deal for the town, and has worked tirelessly for the Senior Center thrift shop.
DISCUSSION.
Septic solution. Joyce Mason stated that she is still working with Mashpee Commons on the septic
system hookup, and expected that it will be finalized in two weeks.
Iry displayed pictorials of several brick layouts received from JCA. It was agreed to go with the running
bond bricks, and not the herring brick pattern. Brick donations will be priced at$100 per brick, or$175 for
two bricks.
The next two meetings are scheduled as follows:
Monday, June 7, 2004 — 1:30 PM at Town Hall, conference room 2
Monday, June 21, 2004— 1:30 PM at Town Hall, conference room 2
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Ina G. Sc I bohm
Recording Secretary
enclosures
3
