Iry reported that on Friday the architect was directed to work with the partition <br /> supplier on the rails to ensure their proper installation. <br /> Grant Issues. <br /> • Ground rules for use of the new Senior Center were discussed. A copy of the rules discussed is <br /> attached to printed set of these minutes. <br /> • Joyce Mason cautioned that it must be made known that the building is not a community building. <br /> • Jim Long is to let Heidi McLaughlin, Leisure Services, know they cannot use building for the next 5 <br /> years because of grant requirements. However, it can be used if the program is limited to Seniors. <br /> • Joyce Mason advised that the 5-year period starts when the project is completed. <br /> PROJECTS <br /> Furnishings–Jim Long. <br /> • The representative from W B Mason didn't show up last Friday. Meeting was rescheduled for next <br /> Wednesday. The furniture selections are not moving as fast as Jim would like, but with the new <br /> completion timeframe of year-end we should be okay. <br /> • Keying system for doors is basically finished. <br /> • Arrangement of tile has been decided—going with original design JCA presented. <br /> • Decorator has a clear idea of what they want to do in the lounge area. <br /> • Having most problems with universal chair selection. <br /> • Cost of the move from the existing building to the new building will come out of budget. An assessment <br /> will be made as to what will have to be moved. <br /> Joyce Mason noted that the wireless unit would be installed on the new building to interconnect the Town <br /> computers. Ed Adams has supplied Joyce Mason with the phone number of the outfit that has four Gateway <br /> computers available for a non-profit organization. Iry reported that the Friends purchased a new digital piano for <br /> the new Center; it's%paid for at this point. <br /> Landscaping–Ed Adams. <br /> - Ed Adams read an e-mail from Jim Vaccaro to Bud Abbott(copy attached to printed set of these <br /> minutes). Joyce Mason explained the reference to Waste Water Treatment. She said that the RFP is in; <br /> Town Planner and Sewer Commissioner are to review the proposal. The Town will then negotiate the <br /> final cost with Mashpee Commons. <br /> - Joyce stated she's been told the realignment design has been fine-tuned. They've had input from the <br /> Fire and Police; they are coming to Board of Selectmen meeting (8/16 or 8/30)for final approval. <br /> - Joyce said that all paving work will be done before plants close but signals will not be fully operational at <br /> that time. Signal should be operational several weeks after Center opens. <br /> - Iry noted that a decision has to be made as to when to plant grass, etc., in order to determine when the <br /> irrigation system will be needed. <br /> - Big trees should be put in before seeding grass. <br /> - Outside faucets should be connected to the well for watering plants and trees <br /> Ernest Virgilio will mark a set of plans to show where underground pipes were placed, to assist irrigation <br /> planning and well hook-ups. <br /> Ed Adams will get his committee together to compile a list of what will be planted. <br /> The Committee is waiting for input from Mashpee Commons in order to proceed. Iry will follow up with <br /> Mashpee Commons. <br /> Decorations/Selections. They are looking at blinds and blinds installation. <br /> Fund Raising. The committee has done the mailing to million dollar plus people. Mailing to 4,000 asking for <br /> donations will be going out shortly. <br /> 2 <br />
