TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> SENIOR CENTER BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 <br /> Committee Attendees: Also Attending: <br /> Irving Goldberg Jim Long, Director, COA <br /> Harold Klegman Ernest Virgilio, Clerk of the Works <br /> Ed Adams Alan Samry, Mashpee Enterprise <br /> Jean Noussee <br /> Betty Nichols <br /> Art Weinstein <br /> Chairman Irving Goldberg called the meeting to order at 1:35 PM. <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes from the meeting of August 30, 2004, were corrected as follows: on page 2 under <br /> PROJECTS, Furnishings, line 2,W.B. Watson should be changed to W.B. Mason. The <br /> committee unanimously approved the minutes as corrected. <br /> BILLS <br /> Chairman Irving Goldberg reported that there was no,General Contractor bill. There were two <br /> bills from the Clerk of the Works, covering a three-week period: <br /> 1. $640.00 <br /> 2. $1,960.00 <br /> After review of the bills, the committee approved their payment and signed off on them. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Clerk of the Works—Ernest Virgilio <br /> Mr. Virgilio stated that he is trying to stay within a 20-hour week in order to close out the building <br /> project within his budget. There will be a $3,325 check coming into the general construction <br /> account from Cape Light Compact. There also will be a $7,855 check received from Keyspan, <br /> after their building inspection. These two checks will go against the budget deficit amount. There <br /> will be a credit for sixty feet of paving from excavation costs, which are being assumed by <br /> Mashpee Commons. Mr.Virgilio also reported a credit due as a result of a change in the order of <br /> the roof drains. The change order will need to be approved by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Grant Manager—Susan Gray <br /> No report. <br /> Site Meeting—Irving Goldberg <br /> -Final elevations for the parking lot will be ready this week, with grading and paving of the parking <br /> lot to follow. <br /> -Most of the siding is completed. <br /> -The roofing is not quite complete. Insulation for the roof is in process this week. <br /> -Soffits are not completed. <br /> -The skylight is being shipped. <br /> -The hard ceiling and drop ceiling will begin this week. <br /> -The contractor asked that the partition tracks be installed. <br /> -Sprinkler system testing is complete, as are inspections for gas, water and electricity installation <br /> The big item now is the outside work: excavation, grading, paving, landscaping, fencing. It was <br /> noted that before doing any finish work inside the building, the entryway into the building must be. <br /> very clean in order to avoid damage to the interior floors, etc. <br /> 1 <br />
