�{ 4 <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> SENIOR CENTER BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of February 4, 2005 <br /> Committee Attendees: Also Attending: <br /> Irving Goldberg Jim Long, Director of COA <br /> Betty Nichols Ernest Virgilio, Clerk of the Works <br /> Jean Noussee <br /> Art Weinstein <br /> Ed Adams <br /> Harold Klegman <br /> Chairman Irving Goldberg called the meeting to order at 11:10 AM, <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES <br /> The Committee unanimously approved the minutes from the meeting of January 10, 2005. <br /> BILLS <br /> Irving Goldberg reported receipt of the following bills` <br /> 1. $1,187.50 from Cape Cod Alarm—for installation and testing of the alarm system <br /> 2. $7,796 from Statewide Engineering. This will be the final requisition from the contractor. <br /> 3. $3,800 from Maybruck—for installation of kitchen equipment plumbing <br /> 4. $2,920 from Clerk of the Works. This will be the final bill from Mr. Virgilio. <br /> 5. $3,667.59 for Statewide for payment of gas bill from 12/10/04 through 1/11/05. Jim Long will <br /> follow up. <br /> Iry Goldberg confirmed that the official Certificate of Occupancy date was January 28, 2005. <br /> After review of the bills, the Committee approved payment and signed off on bills#1,2,3,and S. Paper <br /> work for bill #4 was still in the Town Manger's office. However, the committee unanimously approved <br /> payment of the bill with Invoice#24, and Authorization#64. <br /> Irving Goldberg reported an extension of the STG Consultants contract through June 2005, due to an <br /> extension of the grant until completion of the landscaping next spring. <br /> GRANT MANAGER. <br /> The Grant Manager's Project Budget Report reflects$100,000 as a budgeted amount for furniture with <br /> zero expended. Ed Adams inquired as to why that item still showed a full balance of$100,000. Jim <br /> Long explained that bilis for the furniture were still coming in. It was agreed that Jim Long would prepare <br /> a report of all furnishings purchased, and will keep the Building Committee informed as the bills were <br /> received and paid. <br /> CLERK OF THE WORKS. <br /> Mr. Virgilio opened his report by expressing his appreciation to Irving Goldberg and the entire Building <br /> Committee for giving him the opportunity to be a part of the whole Senior Center building project. He <br /> stated that, in his estimation, the project went very well, and he attributed this success in large part to the <br /> cooperation he received from Iry Goldberg and the Committee. He reported that the building cost <br /> approximately $225 per square foot, which is about$75 less than commercial buildings. Today, <br /> residential building is $150 per sq. ft., and commercial building is$300 per sq. ft. He expressed his <br /> extreme pleasure at the outcome of the entire project, and stated that he will be available in the coming <br /> months for assistance if needed. Since he knows everything that needs to be known about the building <br /> and the grounds, Mr. Virgilio will be available to respond free of charge to any problems that may arise. <br /> 1 <br />
