It is questionable whether fitness and exercise equipment will be <br /> used/needed at the Senior Center. Support area—the 200 square feet allotted for general storage may <br /> be better used elsewhere; rest rooms—520 sq ft allotted here may change depending upon the number <br /> of men and women that will be using the Great Room. Service Yard and Outdoor Activity Space—not <br /> included in the total square footage. The cost to build a shell for outdoor activity storage would be <br /> approximately$40 per sq ft. Basement: the attached proposed plans do not include a basement to <br /> house the Thrift Shop. Federal grant money will not permit use of the Center for anything other than <br /> Senior Center activities for the first 5 years. JCA's cost estimate for a one-half unfinished basement is <br /> $400,000.
