D. Lights - Gus met with Greg Taylor and Carl McClintock to finalize plans at <br />Heritage Park. We have acceptance to spend $15,000 to augment the $23,000 <br />that Little League raised to put lights at this area of Heritage Park. Went over <br />plans with Greg Taylor. Greg is developing bid package. This should be all <br />ready by the end of September. Looking at March or April before everything <br />gets ordered. Hope to have everything done by opening in April. <br />E. Two Areas being worked on for the fall: <br />1. Skateboard Park. <br />2. Ropes Course - Made agreement with police to use course with 4 or 5 <br />instructors from Barnstable Youth Ranch. Adventure Club went <br />through most of the Ropes at the Mashpee course and then completed <br />high course at the Sheriffs ranch. The grounds at the ropes course in <br />Mashpee were cleaned by a group from the Sheriffs Department. <br />V New Business - <br />A. Oktoberfest - Oktoberfest will be October 10 Ih (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM). There <br />may be an activity on Friday night. Gus asked if the Council could put on <br />another pet show. Pat Riley explained that three judges plus an MC would be <br />needed. Don McCuish, Maryanne Macdonald, Scott Chausse volunteered to <br />help. Pat Riley mentioned that he would speak with Kim Whitney. <br />VI Open Discussion - Pat Riley mentioned that the Committee should have more input. <br />Went around group for suggestions. Scott Chausse felt he was fairly new but would <br />like to bring some ideas about working with special needs. He would like to be more <br />active. Wayne Taylor would like to be more actively involved in putting some of <br />these programs together and getting involved with youth and seniors. Pat Antonellis <br />wants to help build credit and non-credit programs. Maryanne Macdonald would like <br />to stay in the direction we are going now but would like to ask people what type of <br />classes they are looking for. Scott Chausse wanted to prioritize two goals for the <br />year to work on. Pat Riley wants to see the high school kids kept active. Don <br />McCuish mentioned that he was new, and he is not sure what our short and long-term <br />goals are. General discussion took place. Pat Riley would like to see one of the two <br />goals be the Pet Show. The other goal the group will decide at the next meeting. <br />VII Adiourn - Pat Antonellis made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 PM. Wayne <br />Taylor seconded.
