LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 25, 2000 <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL - 6:30 PM <br />Present: Present: Also Present: <br />Kevin Terrill Pat Riley Gus Frederick <br />Janice Mills <br />Pat Antonellis <br />Scott Chausse <br />Don McCuish <br />Wayne Taylor <br />I Openin —Pat Riley opened the meeting at 6:34 PM <br />Il. Minutes — October Minutes will be approved at February 29, 2000, meeting. <br />IIl Communications - <br />Cane Cod Neighborhood Support Coalition — would like to get support <br />from Leisure Services Department. Would like to put a playground in <br />Mashpee Village. Gus explained that we are not in a position to <br />donate funds but we could assist them. Ownership of Mashpee Village <br />should be involved in that project. Gus can send a letter in their <br />support. Wayne Taylor made a motion to send a letter to support the <br />Coalition in this project. Pat Riley seconded. Motion carried. Pat <br />Antonellis mentioned that there is a limited amount of playgrounds in <br />the town for toddlers. Gus discussed playground for handicap <br />accessibility which was to be erected. Looking for best locations in <br />town. <br />Wayne Taylor mentioned that Little League and Pop Warner may be <br />able to help. Gus explained we had used the Sheriff's Department to <br />erect slide. Janice Mills said that there should be an overall plan for <br />Rec facilities and where they would be placed. Gus will send out plan <br />that was started a few years ago. Wayne Taylor mentioned that John's <br />Pond Association has space for playground. <br />2. Mashpee Art House - Morgan Peters is looking for support to put an <br />Arts Building up by the Recreation Building. Gus mentioned that <br />there is a family in town to put in a Memorial playground by the Rec <br />Building area. <br />
