LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY .COUNCIL MEETNG DECEMBER 20, 2005 MASHPEE TOWN HALL 6:30 PM Present: Lorraine Murphy, Marie Thomas, Doug Goff, Liz Hendricks, and Peter Thomas Absent: Don Myers, Reid Riberdy Also Present: Gus Frederick, Heidi McLaughlin, Peggy Geary, and Jean Young Opening — Gus Frederick opened the meeting at 6:35PM. Gus Frederick handed out paperwork to everyone, including a copy of the last meeting and a copy of the By-laws. Gus Frederick asked everyone to review the notes from the last meeting. Membership -There is still one opening remaining from the Selectmen. Gus Frederick made a recommendation to change having a Principal in attendance and instead have a high school student. Gary Janulewicz mentioned he might like to be on the Committee. Gus would like to amend the By-laws and have a high school student. Peggy Geary wanted to know what roll a high school student would have to play on the Advisory Council. Gus mentioned that it would be good to have a student's viewpoint. Gary has helped us out with flyers and programs. Liz Hendricks wanted to know if we would also need someone from the elementary level. Liz would like a parent involved with Leisure Services Advisory Council who is involved with Leisure Services Programs already. Marie Thomas would like someone from the high school who was involved with our programming in the past. Doug Goff made a motion to have a high school student replace a Principal. Peggy Geary seconded the motion. Motion carried. Gus mentioned that the By-laws needed to be updated. Gus asked the members to review them for the next meeting. Gus mentioned that he would like to redo the Mission Statement. Gus Frederick will make the change recommendations to the Selectmen. Gus would like to have officers elected for Leisure Services Advisory Council — Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Recording Secretary. Liz Hendricks made a motion to have Lorraine Murphy appointed as Secretary. Doug Goff seconded the motion. Motion carried. Doug Goff made a motion to nominate Marie Thomas as Vice Chairperson. Liz Hendricks seconded the motion. Motion carried. Lorraine Murphy made a motion to nominate Doug Goff as Chairperson. Marie Thomas seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
