Ms. Ahlgren stated Al Polsi told her his group would like to
sponsor a forum, after the Committee has made a decision,
strictly on the cost issue , including information on the tax rate
information, capital expense and cost to run the school .
Dr. DeMoura will prepare information on what it will cost to
educate a student, when the high school is up and running and
there are not students in Falmouth ( 1999 ) . The debt service
should be added to that cost. It will all be discussed in todays
dollars.
Dr. DeMoura noted there are a lot of operating expenses that are
notjust the operational cost of the school because of the
community use of the building.
Bob Writenhour presented information on the tax rate impact
schedule.
Dr. DeMoura spoke with the PTO officers regarding town meeting.
They requested a 1 page fact sheet of why we need a high school .
They feel that issue may be getting lost. They will take
responsibility of distributing the fact sheet and contacting
other parents. They would also like the information to include
impact on our taxes. Ms. Ahlgren will coordinate with Dr.
• DeMoura, using the EFNC report.
Bill Jones stated he will be having or 3 4 meetings with the
9
seniors.
Should the Committee hold another forum with the Native
Americans? Mr. Dinizio stated they have asked for another forum,
they feel they are being left out.
**Ms. Mills made a motion to send a letter to the tribal
council asking them to name the day, time and place for a
meeting and the Committee will attend. Ms . Ahlgren
seconded the motion. All members in favor. **
****
Because the Chamber of Commerce meeting conflicts with some of
these meeting , the Committee revised some of its meeting times .
The revised schedule is as follows:
Tuesday , Nov . 9 at 7 : 30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov . 16 at 4: 00 p.m.
Tuesday , Nov. 23 at 7 : 30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 4 : 00 p.m.
****
The Committee discussed the timing of the town meeting articles.
The Selectmen have to vote to put the article on the warrant and
then they have to be advertised . Mr. Dinizio will find out when
the Selectmen need this Committee ' s decision .
• Bob Writenhour has asked Tom Fudala to generate the legal
description for the purchase of land article but it will get
complicated if the Committee decides to take a piece of a parcel
because he does not have a meets and bounds description .
4
` J
