MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> NOVEMBER 23 , 1993 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Paul Griffin, Bill Martiros, Peter Dinizio, Merry Sue <br /> Ahlgren , Bill Jones , Steve Greelish, Joe Polito, Janice Mills <br /> Tom Fudala, Greg Taylor, Dr . Lincoln DeMoura Carl Franceschi , <br /> Paul Writtenburg, DRA <br /> Meeting convened at 7 : 38 p .m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> ** Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to accept the minutes of Oct <br /> 26 , Nov 2 , Nov 9 with Executive Session and Nov. 16 with <br /> Executive Session. Mr. Griffin seconded the motion. All <br /> members were in favor. ** <br /> Carl Franceschi and Paul Writtenburg from DRA were present to <br /> discuss the matrix and some of the concerns and issues to be <br /> resolved . The Committee agreed to go through the matrix , item by <br /> item. <br /> Area: the Committee has to consider their approach as to what to <br /> • recommend be taken at town meeting . Mr. Dinizio explained , after <br /> hiring an Architect to design the building , they can then "fine <br /> tune" exactly what land is needed . The exact limits will be <br /> determined after design . Mr . Greelish stated that must be added <br /> to the matrix, so people understand that. Should the Committee <br /> mention the acreage needed at town meeting? <br /> Mr . Dinizio mentioned the issue of the future elementary school , <br /> it was part of the original charge of this Committee. There were <br /> other sites turned away because they were not big enough for 2 <br /> schools. Mr. Griffin stated he spoke with Town Counsel who <br /> explained it is the responsibility of this Committee to take the <br /> EFNC information and implement it, unless there has been a change <br /> from the Selectmen . EFNC recommended buying enough land for a <br /> high school and a future elementary school . <br /> Mr . Greelish thinks that decision is the Selectmen 's (to buy <br /> enough land for a future elementary school ) . This Committee needs <br /> feedback from them on how this should be presented . The intent <br /> was not made clear. <br /> Selectmen Mills was present and asked this Committee to attend <br /> Monday night's Selectmen ' s meeting ( at about 7 : 30 ) to discuss the <br /> presentation to be made at town meeting . <br /> The matrix should mention how much land is buildable . Mr. <br /> • Franceschi has determined that. At the 151 site, they eliminated <br /> the power line easement and 200 feet on either side (about 30 <br /> acres) and subtracted the wetland and slope to the Quashnet <br /> River. <br /> 1 <br />
