$ • TO: Mashpee High School Building Committee FROM: Joe Polito DATE: September 14, 1993 As discussed the RFP needs to be prepared by the Selectmen and Town Counsel . The Mashpee High School Building Committee will need to makes it's views and preferences known to the Selectmen ; at this point they are: la. Dr. DeMoura's (skills/experience list) for scope of work. 2a. The fee schedule obtained from DCPO , etc. 3a. The designer selection guideline from DCPO. 4a. The architects work to date; site definition 5a. The appraisers work to date on land cost. The Committee needs to put together a needs list of what results the building architect and the design process need to provide for the development of the High School ; the RFP may consist of some of the following : 1b. Review findings obtained by the Building Committee from • educational consultant program information supported by superintendent's office, school committee, the site feasibility study architect's report and any and all town and town authority input. 2b. Meet with organizations and committees to synthesize program information . 3b. Develop design process with the Building Committee, Selectmen and Town Counsel . 4b. Provide detailed engineering on selected site a.s. a. p. if not sooner. 5b. Coordinate with School Governance Authority: - Contractual/Fees arrangements with Selectmen/Town Counsel . - Scheduling,Design, Construction, etc. - Materials use qualification . - Reporting process (clerk of works) , Building Committee, etc. - Construction supervision. - Town planning authorities, etc . - Any and all information obtained at Sept 24, 1993 meeting. 6b. Develop conceptual design through an agreed design process so as to interface with Building Committee and all other authorities. 7b. Design is to be sensitive to the fact that no Mashpee high school exists and that the building reflect many aspects of town life. 1
